Eclipse made it's debut at No. 1 on the AIR 100% Independent Singles and Independent Label Singles charts!

Delta last reached No. 1 on the Independent charts in 2023 with her hit Back to Your Heart.

It is the first Aussie Eurovision song in three years to make an appearance on the AIR charts. In 2023 Voyager's entry Promise peaked at No. 1 on Independent Label Singles chart.

Overall it is the 3rd Australian Eurovision entry to appear on the AIR charts.

Today marks the 10th anniversary of the release of Australia’s second-ever Eurovision entry, Sound of Silence by Dami Im.

To celebrate the milestone, @damiim teamed up with @electricfields_music, who represented Australia at Eurovision 2024, to record a special new version of Sound of Silence.

Dami achieved one of Australia’s greatest results at Eurovision 2016 with Sound of Silence.

Performing in Stockholm, she delivered a vocally demanding performance that captivated juries across Europe, ultimately winning the professional jury vote with 320 points. In the final tally she finished second overall with 511 points, narrowly behind Jamala’s winning entry 1944 from Ukraine.

The result remains Australia’s best Eurovision placement to date and cemented Sound of Silence as one of the contest’s most acclaimed modern performances, praised for its soaring vocals and dramatic staging.

In a press release marking today’s anniversary, Dami reflected on the impact the song has had on her career:

“Ten years ago, Sound of Silence changed my life in a way I could never have imagined. Standing on the Eurovision stage was one of the most defining moments of my career. It was a true turning point not just because of the surprising result, as mind-blowing and surreal as that was and still is to this day, but more-so because of the connection. That song carried my voice across the world and opened doors to a new place in my musical journey that I didn’t even know existed!

“A decade on, I don’t sing it the same way because I’m not the same person. I've sung this song thousands of times on countless stages all across the world. There's more life in me, and the song has taken on a deeper meaning with more gratitude and more perspective."

Dami also shared the significance of creating a new version of the song with Electric Fields:

“To revisit Sound of Silence with Electric Fields feels incredibly special. The completely reimagined production that Michael brought to this version truly blew me away. And Zaachariaha’s unique, soul-piercing voice and harmonies... Along with that powerful First Nations language verse."

Alicja has won the Polish television show Finał Krajowych Kwalifikacji and will represent the central European country at Eurovision 2026. Her song is called Pray.

She first came to prominence by winning the tenth season of The Voice of Poland in 2019. The following year she won the television show Szansa na sukces with the song Empires and was due to represent Poland at Eurovision 2020 before the contest's cancellation due to the COVID pandemic. She again competed in the Polish national selection in 2023 with the song New Home, but finished sixth.

Alicja beat out seven other acts in what was an curiously structured national final that was decided entirely by public voting.

Pre-recorded performances of the entries were broadcast late on the afternoon of 7 March Polish time.

The Polish public could already vote for the entries from several days before the broadcast via an app. After the broadcast SMS voting was opened until midnight.

The winner of the national selection was announced on the Polish morning show Pytanie na Śniadanie at 10am 8 March Polish time.

After two hard-fought semifinals, just 10 acts remain in the running to win the competition - although only three of them have indicated that they are likely to proceed to Eurovision in the event that they win.

The Aussievision team has been hard at work listening to all 10 entries to determine their favourites. Nine team members awarded their top eight songs with points in descending order (12-10-8-6-4-3-2-1). Ties were broken based on the song which received the highest individual score.

On Friday 6 March, broadcaster İctimai Television announced that Azerbaijan had its artist for the 70th Eurovision Song Contest in May.

JIVA will have the honour of representing Azerbaijan on stage in Vienna, on what will be the country's 18th participation since its Eurovision debut at Belgrade 2008.

JIVA will sing for Azerbaijan in the First Half of the Second Semi-Final on Thursday 14 May.

Two years ago today @electricfields_music were selected to represent Australia at Eurovision 2024 with One Milkali (One Blood)!!

The song included the Indigenous language Yankunytjatjara, the first time a dialect of Australia’s First People featured at the Contest.

Electric Fields finished runner-up behind Kate Miller-Heidke at the inaugural ‘Eurovision - Australia Decides’ in 2019 with their song ‘2000 and Whatever.’

They are relishing their opportunity to compete in Malmö.

“We are buzzed with euphoria at our chance to share this music with the world. Our music comes from the deepest place in both of us and Eurovision is the most exciting opportunity to bring together our cultures and share the joy of our global connection,” they said.

At the time of release Montaigne said of the song “I’m so excited to present 'Technicolour' to the world! I think it does it all — makes you want to cry, makes you want to dance, makes you want to take on a malignant corporate power — and I think that it is both forward-thinking and suitable for Eurovision.”

Montaigne has been teasing fans with clues for a number of months now, with some guessing back in February that 'Technicolour' would be the song announced.

'Technicolour' is co-written with Dave Hammer, A Sydney based New Zealander also known as David Karam Haddad.

Dave has worked with Australian indie band Lime Cordiale on their ARIA Award winning album '14 Steps To A Better You'.

Montaigne was selected as Australia's entrant by SBS after missing out on competing at last year's cancelled event.
