Australia confirmed to compete at Eurovision 2027

SBS has confirmed Australia will compete at the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest in Burgas, Bulgaria.
The announcement was made by SBS in an article outlining some of the content coming to the broadcaster in 2027.
The statement regarding Eurovision reads:
“The Eurovision Song Contest returns in 2027 after more than 3.27 million Australians tuned in this year, with Australia’s Delta Goodrem taking an impressive fourth place in Vienna, Austria. As Eurovision heads to Bulgaria, who will represent Australia in 2027?”
No details have been shared yet on how Australia’s artist will be selected.
Australia at Eurovision
Australia has been part of the Eurovision Song Contest since 2015, when Guy Sebastian made his guest debut in Vienna and finished in fifth place. What was initially intended to be a one-off invitation has since turned into a decade-long Eurovision journey.
Since then, Australia has delivered plenty of memorable moments, including Dami Im’s iconic second-place finish in Stockholm in 2016, Kate Miller-Heidke’s unforgettable staging in Tel Aviv in 2019, and Voyager rocking their way to the Top 10 in Liverpool in 2023.
In 2026, Delta Goodrem made Australia proud with her powerhouse performance of Eclipse. She returned Australia to the Grand Final and secured fourth place - our best result in 10 years and Australia’s second-best result ever at Eurovision.
So, who will follow in Delta’s footsteps and hopefully deliver another huge result for Australia?
