Greek-born international pop and tenor singer songwriter George Perris has been internally selected to represent Cyprus at Eurovision in Burgas in 2027.

The announcement was made by both Cypriot broadcaster (CyBC) on their morning show.

Born in 1983 in Athens, George is a seasoned performer whose style showcases a mix of contemporary, pop, and classical styles.

George has seen international recognition throughout his career. He was selected to perform at the Grammy awards in their ‘Global spin’ video series in 2021.

Based on his recent releases, what could we expect from Cyprus in 2027? Possibly a home language ballad - a big pivot from their recent entries. Could this be exactly what the public want to see from Cyprus?

Now, CyBC is now inviting composers, lyricists and songwriters from Cyprus and abroad to submit original songs for the chance to represent Cyprus at Burgas 2027 via its dedicated online platform.
