Canada's five Eurovision 2027 hopefuls will perform live this weekend as they look to win over the public and secure their place at next year's contest in Bulgaria.

CBC/Radio-Canada has announced a special program, Horizon Eurovision, which will see each of the five competing artists deliver a 10-minute live performance while voting remains open.

The performances will take place on Sunday 1 November, giving Canadians another opportunity to hear from the artists before deciding who should represent their country at Eurovision.

The five artists competing are:

  • Josiane

  • Rêve

  • Tyler Shaw

  • TALK

  • William Cloutier

Hosted by Catherine Pogonat and Odario Williams, Horizon Eurovision will broadcast live on CBC Music and ICI MUSIQUE at 4pm Eastern Time on Sunday 1 November (8am Monday 2 November AEDT).

The program will subsequently be broadcast across CBC/Radio-Canada's television, radio and digital platforms, including CBC TV and CBC Gem on Tuesday 3 November.

More opportunities to get to know the artists

Ahead of the live performances, the five finalists will also feature in Eurovision Song Contest: Meet Canada's Finalists.

Hosted by Tom Power, the program will feature individual interviews with each artist on Canada's Eurovision stage.

It will air on CBC TV and CBC Gem on Thursday 29 October, followed by CBC Radio One on Friday 30 October.

How will Canada's Eurovision artist be chosen?

Voting is already underway, with Canadians able to cast one vote each day for their preferred artist, up to a maximum of 10 votes during the voting period.

Voting closes on Thursday 5 November at 11:59pm Pacific Time, with the public deciding which of the five artists will represent Canada at its Eurovision debut.

Unlike traditional national finals, Canada is selecting its artist first, with the Eurovision song to be chosen afterwards.

Canadians can vote at CBC.ca/eurovision.

Canada will make its Eurovision debut in Burgas, Bulgaria, in May 2027, becoming the first new country to join the competition since Australia in 2015.
