Nyendra @nyendra.official will represent Bhutan at the inaugural Eurovision Song Contest Asia after winning Rhythm of Bhutan with Lhayi Semo (The Angel).

Bhutan became the first country to select its entry for Eurovision Asia, with five acts competing in the national final broadcast live from the BBS Studios in Thimphu.

Nyendra came out on top following a combination of voting from a professional jury, the Bhutanese public and viewers around the world.

The professional jury accounted for 40% of the result, with another 40% coming from the Bhutanese public and the remaining 20% from the Rest of the World vote.

The five songs competing to represent Bhutan at the inaugural Eurovision Song Contest Asia are out, and the Aussievision team has been busy ranking them to find our favourites.

Bhutan will become the first country to select its Eurovision Asia entry when Rhythm of Bhutan takes place on Tuesday 11 August.

Eleven Aussievision team members have ranked the Bhutanese songs from first to fifth place with points awarded from 12 points to most favourite and 4 points to least favourite (12, 10, 8, 6 and 4 points). Rankings are made on personal taste, not a prediction on how the songs will place on the night.

Rhythm of Bhutan will take place on Tuesday 11 August at 7:00pm Bhutan Time, or 11:00pm AEST.

It will be aired live via the official Eurovision YouTube channel.

ICYMI: New music - Australian pop duo @bachelor.girl.official have released one of Australia's most beloved pop albums with a Eurovision-flavoured twist.

Australian duo Bachelor Girl, featuring Tania Doko and James Roche, have released Waiting for the Day: Artist Sessions, a reimagined version of their acclaimed debut album featuring collaborations with Australian Eurovision stars including Delta Goodrem, Jessica Mauboy and Guy Sebastian, just to name a few.

The 15-track project sees Bachelor Girl revisit each song alongside hand-picked guest artists they've worked with, toured with or formed friendships with throughout their career.

The announcement of the host city for the Eurovision Song Contest 2027 has been delayed, with Bulgaria's national broadcaster BNT confirming that the selection process is still ongoing.

The contest remains a two-city race between Sofia and Burgas, which were shortlisted earlier this month after an initial assessment of bids from four Bulgarian cities.

In a statement, BNT said the international evaluation working group is continuing to assess both bids before a final decision is made.

"The evaluation process has reached its final stage, but additional time is required to complete the comprehensive assessment of the candidate cities," the broadcaster said.

No revised date has been announced for when the host city will be revealed.

Count Binface is a 5,900-year-old intergalactic space warrior from the planet Sigma IX whose motto is “Make Earth Great Again.”

He has stood in five elections since 2019, including the London Mayoral election and the 2024 general election.

He is currently up against Nigel Farage in the Clacton by-election, and recently revealed his Clacton manifesto, which includes some Eurovision proposals.

Point 18 of the manifesto calls for former English professional football player and manager Wayne Rooney to be the new “expert summariser” for the BBC at Eurovision.

Point 19 of the manifesto calls for Count Binface to represent the UK at Eurovision 2027 and for Clacton to host Eurovision 2028!

Bachelor Girl burst onto the Australian music scene in the late 1990s with their multi-platinum debut album Waiting for the Day, which featured enduring hits including Buses and Trains, Permission to Shine, Lucky Me and more.

Front woman @taniadoko is also well known to Eurovision fans.

In 2019, she competed in Eurovision – Australia Decides with the song Piece of Me where she finished in 8th place.

While Bachelor Girl have continued to release new music and tour in recent years, Waiting for the Day: Artist Sessions sees the duo breathe new life into the album that introduced them to Australian audiences over two decades ago.
