The entry
Niko Kajaia - 'Let's Count The Smiles'
10-year old Niko Kajaia won the Georgian Junior national selection, 'Ranina', out of 10 contestants and will represent Georgia at the 2021 Contest with his quirky song 'Let's Count The Smiles'. During 'Ranina', Niko sang a cover of Salvador Sobral's 2017 winning song 'Amar Pelos Dois'.
'Let's Count The Smiles' is written by the same songwriter that has brought Georgia its three wins at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Maybe this is the key ingredient needed for another win by Georgia!

The comments
"I love 'Let’s Count the Smiles' way more than is reasonable. It feels like a Mika track sung by a 10-year-old, which is both the perfect vibe for JESC and (as a massive Mika fan) something I really enjoy as well! Nikoloz is awkward in a very endearing way, and has a quiet charisma to him which makes him an appealing lead singer. Obviously, there’s a lot riding on the live performance – the video really contributes to the appealing vibe of the song at the moment – but if Georgia pulls this off, I hope they get rewarded with a great result." ~ Craig
"Absolutely love the entry by Niko. It is a mature song yet still very digestible for kids. And that key change just elevates it!! Georgia might just get their record breaking fourth win at Junior Eurovision." ~ Kyriakos
"Georgia has an interesting song this year. It sounds like it’s a bit of a throwback style song which I quite enjoy but I could also see this not connecting as well with many of the younger demographics watching." ~ Tim
"This may be a little too quirky for the Junior Eurovision audience but I love the disco vibe – should be able to do a lot with the staging on this one." ~ Emma
"This retro/disco entry isn't something I'm a fan of personally. Niko's personality shines in this song and if anything is going to standout from this track, it's going to be Niko's stage presence." ~ Cooper
"Wow Niko really is a charming little star. He has white girl rhythm but somehow makes it work! This song is SO damn catchy and I love the use of French instead of English. The absolute earworm of this bunch." ~ Dale
Georgia at Junior Eurovision
Georgia has competed at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 13 times and is one of the most successful countries at Junior Eurovision, winning three times (2008, 2011 and 2016). Georgia has finished in the top ten on nine out of ten occasions. Could 2021 be their fourth win?
