The comments

Simão has a beautiful voice for such a young man, it really sounds like it is being sung by an adult. I genuinely find this really quite touching and almost sounds like a soundtrack to a movie. Saying that, it's something I really enjoy but I'm not sure how it'll fit or do at Junior Eurovision, so I do feel a little conflicted. But it's my own taste and I think it's really quite beautiful ~ Dale

A talented vocalist with a distinctive song from yesteryear. Charming! ~ Steve

One of, if not the most mature entry this year. Personally, I'm not a fan of acoustic ballads. I can see this song having its fans and no doubt will be a standout song during the show. ~ Cooper

Quite a subtle song and almost a little too 'old-fashioned' for Junior Eurovision in 2021. Nice song however! ~ Mike

This has a very distinct style that is uniquely Portuguese. It’s not for me but I respect what he’s doing. ~ Laura

Portugal at Junior Eurovision

Portugal have competed five times at Junior Eurovision. They first entered in 2006 but withdrew after the 2007 Contest. They returned a decade later in 2017 and withdrew last year due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Their best result at Junior Eurovision is 14th place with their debut entry in 2006 with 'Deixa-me sentir' by Pedro Madeira and in 2017 with 'Youtuber' by Mariana Venâncio.
