Where is it happening?
The Eurovision Song Contest 2025 will be held in Basel, Switzerland.
It'll take place at the St. Jakobshalle.
Switzerland is hosting after winning the 2024 Contest with Nemo's song The Code.
When is it on?
There will be three live broadcasts during the week of Eurovision.
Semi-final 1: Tuesday 13 May
Semi-final 2: Thursday 15 May
Grand Final: Saturday 17 May
Please note, because of time zone differences, these will be live in Australia the morning of the next day (eg the Grand Final will be early in the morning of Sunday 18 May).
Who runs it?
Eurovision is run by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and first took place in 1956.
Each year the EBU works with a host TV broadcaster to put on the show and competition.
This is usually the nation who won the Contest the year before. 2025 will be with Swiss broadcaster SRG SSR.

What's the deal with Australia?
Australia is an Associate Member rather than a full Member of the EBU. We do not have a guaranteed place at Eurovision.
We must be invited year-on-year after our five year contract between 2019 and 2023 finsihed. This contract was in place to guarantee the Eurovision - Australia Decides competition.
If Australia wants to compete, it is expected they will not have any barriers from the EBU.
What about The Netherlands and Israel?
The disqualification of the Dutch artist at Eurovision 2024 does not directly impact the nation competing the following year.
The Netherlands and the EBU have been discussing the fall-out of that disqualification. The Dutch themselves will decide if they compete in 2025.
The EBU reference group will have to determine if Israel can or can not compete based on the rules of Eurovision. At this stage there is no indication that they won't compete.
Which artists and songs are competing?
No artist or song has yet to be selected for Eurovision 2025.
Nations either select an artist internally or hold a national competition (known as "national finals"). The competitions usually occur between December and early March.
Songs eligible to compete must not have been publicly released or performed before September 1 and must be a maximum of three minutes long.
