Sona Azizova - ‘One of Those Days’
Azerbaijan will be represented this year by Sona Azizova. She is 12-years-old and came second in 'The Voice Kids Azerbaijan' earlier in 2021. She plays piano and also enjoys gymnastics and copper embossing and has represented Azerbaijan at a number of events and festivals.
Sona was internally selected by the Azerbaijani broadcaster, the first time the country has competed at Junior Eurovision since 2018.

The PIPES on this young woman! Wow! A tonally beautiful and soulful voice with clear, non-accented English. This could be incredible live. ~ Steve
This is simple, but it really sticks. A more mature sound from Azerbaijan than we've had in the past and it works. A good vocal live could see this towards the top of the jury vote. ~ Mike
Strong vocal performance and mature composition, yet I can't help but hear the similarities to 'My Turn' from Eurovision 2017 in the chorus. ~ Josh
While I find the song a little predictable musically, the vocals elevate it above the competition to the point where it could be a dark horse in the competition. I can see this song potentially being a jury favourite. ~ Laura
A nice ballad, but a bit non-impactful for me. Nothing bad about it, but nothing to make it stand out. Chorus sounds a bit like Czech Republic 2017's 'My Turn'. ~ Hugo
Azerbaijan at Junior Eurovision
Azerbaijan debuted in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2012, and also participated in 2013 and 2018. Their best result was seventh place in 2013. Fidan Huseynova represented the country in 2018 with the song 'I Wanna Be Like You', and placed 16th.
