The comments
Such an improvement on Tanya's previous Junior Eurovision entry as part of a duo . . . This has grown on me after several listens with a catchy chorus that you can't help sing along to. Should come alive on the stage. ~ Emma
It's modern, age appropriate, catchy, and most importantly enjoyable! 'Mon Ami' is one of the best songs Russia's sent to Junior Eurovision and Tanya ha a great energy that will help carry this song. Definitely looking out for this song because it could take out the win. ~ Cooper
Quite a lot of English for a junior entry; hopefully the diction on the night doesn't let her down. But besides that, this is a really catchy song and I quite like the verses. A very polished entry from Russia, and a very good chance to do well. ~ Hugo
Good overall package here from Russia. It has a real French flavour and I think that should work well live in Paris. ~ Mike
Another Russian entry with a Latin feel (Little Big 2020, but not anywhere near as weird!). She has quite a nice voice. ~ Hayley
Russia at Junior Eurovision
This year will mark Russia's seventeenth participation in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Since debuting in the competition in 2005, the nation has never failed to send a representative to the Contest.
Russia are amongst the most successful nations in the Contest, only having failed to make the top ten on one occasion (unfortunately being the other time Tanya was one of their representatives). They bring along with them two wins - the Tolmachevy Twins 'Vesenniy jazz' in 2006 (who went on to represent Russia at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2014), and more recently Polina Bogusevich's 2017 entry 'Wings'.
