Aussie fans have yet again made the Top 10 of fans buying tickets for Eurovision.

Eurovision organisers revealed today that fans from over 70 countries will be in the Vienna crowd.

Coming out on top were hosts Austria, neighbours Germany were next, with UK fans rounding out the top three.

Australia came in 7th place, one place higher than last year's 8th place.

Outside of Europe, the United States pipped Australia in 5th place.

Eurojury is an annual competition held by fan site Eurovoix that sees artists, musicians, songwriters and the general public vote on the Eurovision Song Contest entries for 2026.

A distinctive feature of Eurojury is the involvement of industry expert panels from each participating country, aiming to replicate the kind of jury outcome that might seen on the Grand Final night in May, which accounts for 50% of the points. The other 50% of the results come from a public vote with the aim of replicating the televote.

This year thirty-six sets of jury results will be revealed; today Australia received votes from Moldova, Croatia, Sweden and Poland.

New research has found that the Eurovision Song Contest is linked to a noticeable spike in drug use in England, placing it among the biggest party nights of the year.

The findings come from a major wastewater study led by Imperial College London, which analysed more than 1,700 samples from 15 treatment plants across the country.

Researchers tracked traces of substances such as cocaine, ketamine, MDMA and methamphetamine, revealing clear spikes tied to major cultural and sporting events.

Eurovision among peak drug-use events

The study found that Eurovision consistently aligned with increased levels of multiple drugs, including cocaine, ketamine, MDMA and methamphetamine.

It places the Contest alongside major events like World Cup matches and bank holiday celebrations as key periods of heightened drug consumption.

Professor Leon Barron said the findings reflect how behaviour changes during large shared events.

“We see higher usage during big national and international events, particularly when people are socialising more.”

He added that these patterns can help authorities better anticipate risk periods and plan responses.

Cocaine and ketamine lead the trend

Across the year-long analysis, cocaine was the most commonly detected drug, with an estimated 12 tonnes consumed across the monitored sites.

Ketamine was also flagged as a growing concern, with usage levels among the highest recorded in Europe and consistent across both weekdays and weekends.

Researchers also observed increases in MDMA and other stimulants during major event periods.

Each year the OGAE Eurovision fan clubs from across the world vote for their favourite Eurovision songs ahead of the Contest.

The clubs are part of Organisation Générale des Amateurs de l'Eurovision (OGAE) International who each year conduct a pre-Eurovision Song Contest poll. Every national club casts a vote from all entries participating, using the same scoring system as the one at Eurovision.

With the Netherlands, the UK, Albania, Slovenia and Croatia revealing their rankings, 14 clubs have now given points to Australia's entry Eclipse by Delta Goodrem.

As previously reported, Australia received points from Austria, France and Romania ahead of the official reveal from OGAE.

The annual online contest, run by Songfestival.be (who organise ESC 250 each year), simulates the Eurovision voting format and features fan and jury input including semi-final qualification.

This year marked the 11th edition of the competition, with the last two winners being KAJ for Sweden in 2025, Baby Lasagna for Croatia in 2024 and Loreen for Sweden in 2023.

In a dramatic result, Australia finished tied on 173 points with Denmark’s Søren Torpegaard Lund.

However, Delta secured the win thanks to a stronger public vote, handing Australia its first-ever victory in the competition.

Finland rounded out the top three in what was described as a tightly contested final.

In an unusual turn of events, Australia's win was driven heavily by audience backing.

In the semi-final stage, she placed second overall but dominated the public vote, receiving significantly more audience support than her competitors.

That momentum carried into the final, where the public once again played a decisive role in separating Australia from Denmark.

The 2026 edition introduced a revamped format closely mirroring the Eurovision Song Contest itself.

Ten countries from each semi-final advanced, with results determined by a 50/50 split between jury and public voting in the semis, and a combined professional jury and public vote in the final.

Delta Goodrem has released an a cappella version of her Eurovision 2026 song Eclipse.

Australia’s Eurovision 2026 representative unveiled the stripped-back performance, filmed in the garage of her office.

She is joined by a choir featuring the Muscat sisters of @sister2sisterofficial, one of Australia’s most recognisable pop duos.

The sisters previously collaborated with Delta on her standout cover of Loreen’s Eurovision 2023 winning song Tattoo.

This isn't the first variant of her song Eclipse. Back in early April Delta released the Steve Anderson Remix of Eclipse as part of a series by Eurovision organisers called Eurovision Song Contest... A Little Bit More where exclusive performances, remixes and cover songs are released from the artists of that participating year.

The release of the a cappella version of Eclipse comes as Delta prepares to head to Vienna for Eurovision rehearsals.

Australia has picked up more points in Eurojury for Eurovision 2026.

Eurojury is an annual competition held by fan site Eurovoix that sees artists, musicians, songwriters and the general public vote on the Eurovision Song Contest entries for 2026.

A distinctive feature of Eurojury is the involvement of industry expert panels from each participating country, aiming to replicate the kind of jury outcome that might seen on the Grand Final night in May, which accounts for 50% of the points. The other 50% of the results come from a public vote with the aim of replicating the televote.

This year thirty-six sets of jury results will be revealed; today Montenegro, Norway and Georgia's jury results have been cast.

Australia has received points from all three juries.

Current Eurojury 2026 tally

After 15 countries have voted, the Top 10 current standings as of 27 April 2026 are:

1. Denmark - 94 points
2. Finland - 79 points
3. AUSTRALIA - 77 points
4. France - 63 points
5. Cyprus - 54 points
6. Greece - 46 points
7. Bulgaria - 34 points
8. Croatia - 34 points
9. Sweden - 34 points

Sigga Ózk who attempted to represent Iceland at Eurovision multiple times, will now represent the nation at Miss Universe 2026.

The singer competed in Iceland's national selection show Söngvakeppnin in 2023 and 2024.

She made the final on both occasions and was quite the fan favourite.

In 2023, she finished 5th behind Diljá with Dancing Lonely.

She returned the following year with Into the Atmosphere finishing 3rd behind Hera Björk.

That song would finish at No.112 on the Aussievision National Final Countdown of 2024.

She has since turned her attention to the Miss Universe pageant, first winning Miss Hafravatn to earn her chance at the national final.

Sigga went on to win Ungfrú Ísland (which translates to Miss Iceland) to earn her spot at Miss Universe 2026.

She took to Instagram to share her delight:

"Thank you so much!!! Wow I'm speechless," she said.

"I'm so grateful for all the girls in the group, the girls on the team, the judges and EVERYONE who encouraged me. It was an amazing life experience in every way…NOW LET'S GO MISS UNIVERSE 2026."

Among those to congratulate her were 2023 Eurovision artist Alessandra from Norway and her fellow Söngvakeppnin contestant Diljá.

She will now compete at Miss Universe to be held in Puerto Rico in November.

You can show your support for Delta Goodrem and Australia as she competes at the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna in May with the song Eclipse.

There are six options to choose from with various options in black and white.

Delta has released four versions featuring Eclipse themed graphics with the t-shirts in black and some options in white.
