Today we look back at all the latest music releases, videos, show and up coming tour news from Australian Eurovision, Junior Eurovision and ‘Eurovision - Australia Decides’ artists throughout August.

Isaiah Firebrace - 'Come Together: Things Every Aussie Kid Should Know about the First Peoples'

To be released: 16 November 2022


Australian Eurovision 2017 artist Isaiah Firebrace has revealed details on his upcoming children's book 'Come Together'. It is Isaiah's first childrens book release. Inspired by his petition to the Australian Government calling for Aboriginal history to be taught in every classroom, Isaiah spent the last year putting the book together.


In this essential book, Isaiah, a Yorta Yorta and Gunditjmara man, establishes a foundation of First Nations knowledge with 20 key topics. Alongside bright and contemporary illustrations by Mununjali and Fijian artist Jaelyn Biumaiwai, Isaiah connects us to each topic through his own personal story and culture, from the importance of Elders to the Dreaming.




New music:


Amy Sheppard - ‘Blue Guitar’

Released: 5 August 2022


Ahead of the release of her debut EP ' Nothing But Wild', Amy Sheppard has release a new single 'Blue Guitar'. About the new song Amy stated on her socials: "My second solo single is a ballad designed to belt out in the car… a country music love story."


Amy's debut EP will be released on September 16, 2022. You can pre-order the EP here and get the exclusive pink 12 inch vinyl with signed post card. There will be an EP launch in Brisbane on September 16 2022, get more details in the tour section in this article.



Ella Hooper - ‘Old News’

Released: 5 August 2022


'Eurovision - Australia Decides 2019' artist has released her highly anticipated new single 'Old News'. The song was written by Ella and Sara Douga during the Covid lockdowns.


Ella released a statement about the new release:


"Conceived at and in my mumma’s divine space The Church, in Violet Town, while I bunkered down there for a year or two to be with friends and fam in a scary, mind bending, soul challenging time.... this is my first offering from a whole new album that means the gaddam gosh darn makes me actually nervous world to me.. coming out VERY early next year. I’m so happy and grateful I get to do this. Sheeeeezus.. after all these years and releases it’s still a thrill and I’m very hashtag blessed. Thanks guys.. Xx Ella"

Vanessa Amorosi - ‘Good Times Are Coming’

Released: 5 August 2022


'Eurovision - Australia Decides 2020' artist and household name Vanessa Amorosi has released a new soulful, feel-good single ‘Good Times Are Coming’. Along a slinky, relaxed groove and stride piano ‘Good Times Are Coming’ speaks to a desire for positivity and finding the strength to move forward.


In a statement Vanessa explained, "'Good Times Are Coming’ is about shaking off the negativity you feel in your day-to-day life. The good times eventually come if you put your energy in the right places.” ‘Good Times Are Coming’ was produced by Vanessa and US producer Moe Dizz (KB, Jeanetteikz).



AYDAN - 'Lost With You'

Released: 11 August 2022


'Eurovision - Australia Decides 2019' artist AYDAN has released a new single, 'Lost With You'. This catchy number is co-written by AYDAN along with Austin Zudeck, Justin Thunstrom, Frank Dixon and Mark Benedicto.

Jude York - 'i kissed a boy (Katy Perry cover)'

Released: 11 August 2022


The prince charming of 'Eurovision - Australia Decides' 2022, Jude York, has released a stunning cover of Katy Perry's 'I Kissed A Girl'. In early August Jude released a snippet of the cover on his socials mentioning "okay so original is kind of aggressive and messy (albeit fabulous in its own way) so here's a sensitive boy version". The video got people's attention with 30k views from his TikTok video (now at 179.5k views!) that Jude decided to release a full version. And it is spectacular, with Jude's stunning vocals and touching improvised lyrics. The TikTok video of the polished release is now getting close to one million views!!



Alexa Curtis - 'Cry'

Released: 12 August 2022


Australia's 2016 Junior Eurovision representative Alexa Curtis has released her latest single 'Cry'. The song is written by Alexa in conjunction with producer and songwriter Dominik Felsmann. Read more about the release and the projects Alexa is currently working on here.


In commemoration of Olivia Newton-John's passing Alexa released a cover of Olivia's song 'Love Is A Gift'. Check it out here.



Dami Im - 'I Honestly Love You - A Tribute to Olivia'

Released: 15 August 2022


Following the passing of Aussie entertainment legend and Eurovision 1974 artist Olivia Newton-John, Dami Im joined other Aussie music legends, Wendy Matthews, Samantha Jade and Katie Noonan, in a tribute to Olivia singing a very touching cover of 'I Honestly Love You'.



Hilltop Hoods feat. Montaigne and Tom Thum - 'die b4 u'

Released: 25 August 2022


Australia's Eurovision 2020 and 2021 artist Montaigne has reunited with group Hilltop Hoods to release the single 'A Whole Day's Night'. The two previously worked together in 2016 on the song '1955' which reached No.2 on the ARIA charts and No.4 on Triple J's Hottest 100. The single, which also features beatboxer Tom Thumb, was released a week before Montaigne releases her album 'making it!' on September 2nd. Find out more about the collaboration here.



Johnny Manuel - 'Again'

Released: 26 August 2022


Eurovision 2018 artist, Johnny Manuel, who represented Bulgaria as part of the group Equinox, has released a new single, ‘Again’.


Johnny is a queer singer-songwriter who now calls Australia home. In 2020 Johnny competed on The Voice Australia where he missed out on The Voice Australia title, narrowly beaten by Team Kelly Rowland’s Chris Sebastian.


Now stepping out on his own, Johnny embraces a fresh sound for his latest single, 'Again' which is taken off his upcoming EP, 'Younger Skin', out October 7, 2022.



Yirrmal feat. Dami Im - 'Promised Land'

Released: 26 August 2022


Australian Eurovision royalty Dami Im has featured on a new track, by singer-songwriter Yirrmal, called 'Promised Land'. The soulful blues song is sung by the pair in English and in indigenous language by Yirrmal. 'Promised Land' made its way to Triple J Unearthed on 12 August 2022 where it was positively received. It is the first collaboration from both Yirrmal and Dami. Read all about 'Promised Land in our feature article here.



Voyager - 'A Voyage Through Time'

Released: 26 August 2022


Australia Decides 2022 runner-up, Voyager, have released a new live album, 'A Voyager Through Time'. Their latest project is a compilation of their live work, taken from seven albums across their long music career. You can read more about the new release here.



New shows and tours:


Didirri - 'Solo Tour'

Date and location: September 2022, WA, QLD & NSW


The 'Raw Stuff' singer has begun embarking on a solo tour after performing as a special guest during Kate Miller-Heidke's shows earlier this year. Didirri already started touring in August in his home state of Victoria. In September he is taking the 'Solo Tour' to Western Australia, Queensland and New South Wales. Amy Sheppard - 'Nothing But Wild EP Launch'

Date and location: 16 September 2022 at Lefty's Music Hall, Brisbane


One third of Sheppard from 'Eurovision - Australia Decides' 2019, Amy Sheppard, will be launching her new EP 'Nothing But Wild' at Lefty's Music Hall in Brisbane. Amy recently released her debut single 'Nothing But Wild', and then followed it up with her new song 'Blue Guitar'. Find out all you need to know about the event here.


Montaigne - 'Sydney All-Nighter'

Date and location: 17 September 2022, Opera Bar, Sydney - FREE


Montaigne is set to headline the 'Sydney All-Nighter'. The festival features a diverse range of over 100 artists performing across 16 venues scattered across Sydney – from Kings Cross all the way to Parramatta hosting DJ sets.


Australia's Eurovision 2021 artist will perform at the Opera Bar where she will be joined by Becca Hatch at Sydney's most iconic waterfront destination. The event is free, funded by the NSW government. Find out all you need to know here.



Guy Sebastian - 'T.R.U.T.H. on the East Side Tour'

Dates: November to December 2022


Australia's Eurovision 2015 artist, Guy Sebastian, is taking his T.R.U.T.H. tour to regional parts of Australia. The 'T.R.U.T.H. on the East Side Tour' kicks off on the 1st November 2022 in Tamworth and ends in Wagga Wagga on the 6th December 2022. Jessica Mauboy - 'Alpine Valley Vibes 2022'

Date and location: 12 November 2022, Bright's Pioneer Park in Victoria, Australia


Australia's Eurovision 2018 artist, Jessica Mauboy, is set to headline the 'Alpine Valley Vibes 2022', an all-new home-grown music festival, celebrating music, food and culture. It will be held at Bright's Pioneer Park in Victoria on Saturday 12 November. ⁠

Jessica will be joined by platinum selling ARIA award-winner Illy, the immensely talented Gretta Ray, Sydney garage rock 4-piece The Bouys, plus a whole host of local performers still set to be announced. Tickets are on sale now.



Electric Fields - 'Harvest Rock 2022'

Date and location: 19 November 2022, Adelaide, Australia


Australia Decides 2019 runner-ups, Electric Fields, have joined the line up for this years 'Harvest Rock 2022' festival. They will be performing at Rymill and King Rodney Parks in Adelaide on Saturday November 19. The line up on Saturday includes Jack White, Tones and I, Groove Armada, Courtney Barnett and more! Alfie Arcuri - 'Perth Pride - The Court's Beaufort Street Party'

Date and location: 26 November 2022, Perth, Australia


Australia Decides 2019 and New Wave 2021 artist, Alfie Arcuri, will be visiting Perth for the first time to perform at Perth Pride in 'The Court's Beaufort Street Party'!


He will be performing at the Pride after party along Beaufort Street and James Street, which will be closed off to traffic for the big event. Alfie will be joined by Natalie Bassingthwaighte, Samantha Jade, Jawbreakers and many more artists.




Kate Miller-Heidke - 'ChillOut Festival'

Dates and location: 12 March 2023 in Daylesford, Victoria


Australia's Eurovision 2019 artist Kate Miller-Heidke is set to headline the 'ChillOut Festival' in 2023. The festival runs from 9th to the 13th of March 2023, with Kate performing on the 12th. The 'ChillOut Festival' is Australia’s longest-running and largest regional pride festival. Find out all you need to know here.

LeeA - 'LeeA Podcast'

Launched: 16 August 2022


Leea Nanos aka LeeA has debuted her new podcast 'LeeA Podcast'. The young singer-songwriter competed at 'Eurovision - Australia Decides 2019' with 'Set Me Free'. She has now released a new podcast series where she talks about her music industry experiences and gives advice for up and coming artists. In her first episode she talks about her time at Australia Decides. Check it out!
