Two years ago today @electricfields_music were selected to represent Australia at Eurovision 2024 with One Milkali (One Blood)!!

The song included the Indigenous language Yankunytjatjara, the first time a dialect of Australia’s First People featured at the Contest.

Electric Fields finished runner-up behind Kate Miller-Heidke at the inaugural ‘Eurovision - Australia Decides’ in 2019 with their song ‘2000 and Whatever.’

They are relishing their opportunity to compete in Malmö.

“We are buzzed with euphoria at our chance to share this music with the world. Our music comes from the deepest place in both of us and Eurovision is the most exciting opportunity to bring together our cultures and share the joy of our global connection,” they said.

At the time of release Montaigne said of the song “I’m so excited to present 'Technicolour' to the world! I think it does it all — makes you want to cry, makes you want to dance, makes you want to take on a malignant corporate power — and I think that it is both forward-thinking and suitable for Eurovision.”

Montaigne has been teasing fans with clues for a number of months now, with some guessing back in February that 'Technicolour' would be the song announced.

'Technicolour' is co-written with Dave Hammer, A Sydney based New Zealander also known as David Karam Haddad.

Dave has worked with Australian indie band Lime Cordiale on their ARIA Award winning album '14 Steps To A Better You'.

In another hotly contested festival Sal da Vinci proved too strong - taking home the Golden Lion on the final evening of Sanremo 2026 with the entry Per sempre sì. Sal da Vinci fought off stiff competition from Fedez &, Marco Masini, Arisa, Sayf and Ditonellapiaga this year in a very open field.

Sal da Vinci rocketed from tenth in the odds from the first evening straight to the top after a marvellous week of performances!

Per sempre sì hovered around the top of the scoreboard throughout the festival and took the all-important primo position by the final evening. The entry is currently #6 on Spotify Top 50 Italy with 2 million streams and on YouTube boasts 1.6 million views on their live performance from the opening evening.

Four of the finalists were determined by a 50% televoting and 50% jury system. A fifth televote wildcard also progressed to the final after a second round of voting following the announcement of the first four qualifiers.

The four acts that qualified directly for the Festival da Canção 2026 final from semi-final 2 are:

Silvana Peres – Não tem fim
Bandidos do Cante – Rosa
João Ribeiro – Canção do querer
Sandrino – Disposto a tudo

The televote wild card act which will progress to the final is:

Gonçalo Gomes – Doce ilusão

After a long month of waiting, we finally know the song that Bulgarian singer Dara, selected late last month, will be taking to the Eurovision stage.

Bulgaria: Dara will sing Bangaranga at Eurovision 2026!

After a long month of waiting, we finally know the song that Bulgarian singer Dara, selected late last month, will be taking to the Eurovision stage.

In the short-and-sweet final show of Natsionalna Selektsiya 2026, Dara performed three new songs: self-confidence ballad This Is Me, drum-and-bass heartbreak song Curse and dark-pop dance anthem Bangaranga.

This weekend, Germany will select their home entry for Eurovision 2026, and an Australian Eurovision songwriter is in the running.

@louisschoorl, a Dutch-born Australian songwriter and producer, co-wrote the song When I'm with you which is in the running to represent Germany this year.

Louis has worked with many huge Aussie acts from 5 Seconds of Summer, Jessica Mauboy, Dami Im, Guy Sebastian and Delta Goodrem, just to name a few.

He has also co-written two Eurovision entries.

The German national final Das deutsche Finale 2026 takes place Saturday night (Sunday morning for Australia), where the winner will be decided by a 100% televote in a Superfinal of three entries, which are selected from 100% jury.

Louis co-wrote the song When I'm with you, for the artist Malous Lovis, along with Malou and Chelcee Grimes.

The song was produced in France, which he also co-produced with Chelcee.

Louis' Eurovision journey began in 2015, when he contributed to Tonight Again, Australia’s first competitive Eurovision entry, performed by Guy Sebastian in Vienna.

The song went on to finish an impressive fifth place, marking a strong debut for Australia on the Eurovision stage.

A few years later Louis would go on to co-write his second Eurovision song this time for Sweden.

Back in 2018 Louis co-wrote Benjamin Ingrosso's Eurovision entry, Dance You Off.

The song finished in 7th place at the Eurovision Grand Final in Lisbon.

This weekend, Germany will select their home entry for Eurovision 2026, and an Australian Eurovision songwriter is in the running.

@louisschoorl, a Dutch-born Australian songwriter and producer, co-wrote the song When I'm with you which is in the running to represent Germany this year.

Louis has worked with many huge Aussie acts from 5 Seconds of Summer, Jessica Mauboy, Dami Im, Guy Sebastian and Delta Goodrem, just to name a few.

He has also co-written two Eurovision entries.

The German national final Das deutsche Finale 2026 takes place Saturday night (Sunday morning for Australia), where the winner will be decided by a 100% televote in a Superfinal of three entries, which are selected from 100% jury.

Louis co-wrote the song When I'm with you, for the artist Malous Lovis, along with Malou and Chelcee Grimes.

The song was produced in France, which he also co-produced with Chelcee.

Louis' Eurovision journey began in 2015, when he contributed to Tonight Again, Australia’s first competitive Eurovision entry, performed by Guy Sebastian in Vienna.

The song went on to finish an impressive fifth place, marking a strong debut for Australia on the Eurovision stage.

A few years later Louis would go on to co-write his second Eurovision song this time for Sweden.

Back in 2018 Louis co-wrote Benjamin Ingrosso's Eurovision entry, Dance You Off.

The song finished in 7th place at the Eurovision Grand Final in Lisbon.
