We've compiled an updated list of who could and who won't be representing Australia at Eurovision 2026.

With the announcement of who will be representing Australia at Eurovision 2026 expected any day now, we run through an extensive list of artists who we think are possible contenders based on suggestions from fans.

More recently we asked our followers who they would have on top of their wish list.

Based on those suggestions, we run through all the artists based on availability and past expressions of interest and also list artists who we believe are unlikely to be available in May 2026 due to touring and other commitments.

Likely to be available for Eurovision 2026

Dannii Minogue

Kylie Minogue’s name gets thrown around by fans as a potential Eurovision candidate every year, though the chances of her actually taking to the big stage remain slim. Her sister, Dannii Minogue, on the other hand, could be a more realistic possibility.

Back in 2023, Dannii retweeted a Eurovision post on X that read, “The stage is set… and the countdown has begun!” The official Eurovision account cheekily replied, “I… begin to wonder,” fuelling speculation that she might represent Australia in 2024.

Since then, she has continued to be viewed as a potential contender. While she doesn’t perform live as frequently as she once did — and has previously spoken about how daunting that prospect can feel — a return to the stage isn’t out of the question. It may simply require easing back into regular live shows.

As of now, Dannii doesn’t have any performances scheduled. But that doesn’t stop fans from hoping that one day, a Minogue might finally step onto the Eurovision stage.

Delta Goodrem

Delta tops our survey of who fans want to see represent Australia at Eurovision for the second straight year. She was a name that was much rumoured the year Dami Im was chosen for Eurovision and continues to fuel speculation.

The 40-year-old singer-songwriter burst on the Australian music scene in the early 2000s with her debut album Innocent Eyes. It is the second-highest-selling album of all time in Australia.

As well as chart success here, she had five top 10 singles in the UK. She's also had stints on The Voice Australia but continues to record and release music, including the 2024 single Hearts on the Run and her album Bridge Over Troubled Dreams reaching no.1 in 2021.

Back in June 2025, Delta expressed interest at representing Australia in an interview with The Sun while on tour in the UK saying, “Of course I would do Eurovision. I love it!”

She is performing in Fiji from 20-26 April 2026, which would still give her time to get to rehearsals in Vienna for Eurovision in the first week of May.

When Dami Im ruled herself out to represent Australia at Eurovision this year she publicly endorsed Delta Goodrem. Could Dami know something we don't know?

George Sheppard

Sheppard as a full band may be unavailable this year due to Amy’s pregnancy — but that doesn’t rule out Eurovision entirely.

George Sheppard could emerge as a serious contender in his own right.

The group finished third at the inaugural Eurovision – Australia Decides in 2019 with On My Way, which has since amassed more than 38 million Spotify streams — the highest of any Australian Eurovision or Australia Decides entry.

They’ve remained closely connected to Australia’s Eurovision journey ever since. The following year, George teamed up with Tania Doko to co-write Pushing Stars for Jordan Pravi at Australia Decides.

Sheppard also submitted Edge of the Earth for Eurovision 2024, though Electric Fields were ultimately chosen.

In 2025, the band again played a key role, co-writing Australia’s entry Milkshake Man, with George travelling to Basel to provide backing vocals at the Contest.

George launched his first solo material in 2023 — so could 2026 finally be the year he steps onto the Eurovision stage himself?

Jude York

Jude York has had a huge rise to fame since competing at Australia Decides in 2022, with his song I won't need to dream, amassing a big following in Europe and across the world.

He has kept himself well within the Eurovision world, previously presenting the Aussie jury votes in the Finnish national final, UMK, back in 2023.

He has produced many songs for past Eurovision artists including Isaiah Firebrace, Dami Im (with whom he released a duet with) and last year’s Eurovision winner JJ.

In an interview with us last year Jude stated “Eurovision is still on my radar.” So the likely hood seems high for Jude to represent Australia one day its just a matter of when.

Could 2026 be Jude's year?

The Veronicas

Though not publicly stating their intent in representing Australia at Eurovision The Veronicas remain a hot favourite among fans year after year.

This year the duo reached a career milestone with their first ever sold out arena show in Melbourne at the Australian Open.

They then posted on their socials that they were "excited for what's next", which of course could mean anything.

Last year they did spend time in the studio with previous collaborators DNA Songs, Anthony Egizii and David Musumeci, who have also written four Aussie Eurovision songs.

The Veronicas' calendar does seem free between now and May. Plenty of time of prepare themselves for Eurovision?

Tones And I

Tones and I remains one of Australia’s most globally streamed artists, thanks to her 2019 smash hit Dance Monkey.

She has previously been linked with Montaigne to help write their Eurovision 2021 entry.

In a 2022 interview, Tones And I also made her interest clear, saying: “I want to be involved in Eurovision. I want to help write the song and the artwork.”

She remains a genuine contender to represent Australia.

Throughout February and March, she’ll be performing sold-out shows across Queensland, Victoria and New South Wales.

Could this be Tones And I reconnecting with her Australian fans before potentially heading to Europe for Eurovision?

  • Jael Wena

  • Jordan Anthony

  • Leea Nanos

  • Peach PRC

  • Tina Arena

Likely ruled out of Eurovision 2026:

Courtney Act

Back in September last year Courtney Act made her Eurovision pitch in an interview on Tia Kofi's podcast. Last year in an interview on drag performer Tia Kofi’s podcast, Australian entertainer Courtney Act said she wants to one day represent Australia at Eurovision — ideally at the 2027 Contest — and is planning to pitch the idea to music executives.

She explained that, having been involved with Eurovision for years (including competing in Eurovision – Australia Decides in 2019 and working as a commentator and correspondent for the Australian Eurovision broadcast), she feels she now has the experience and insight to craft a strong Eurovision entry for Australia.

Could she be selected a year earlier than Courtney planned?

It seems unlikely as she has already been announced to continue her Eurovision commentary role, along with Tony Armstrong, in Vienna this year.

Ricki-Lee

Ricki-Lee Coulter publicly declared her interest in Eurovision as far back as 2017, telling fans “Let me at it!” during an Instagram Q&A.

She first rose to fame on Australian Idol in 2004, before joining the Young Divas alongside Paulini and Jessica Mauboy. Ricki-Lee then carved out a successful solo career in the late 2000s and early 2010s, scoring multiple Top 20 hits including Can’t Touch This, Do It Like That and Raining Diamonds.

She has also built a strong television career, hosting both Australia's Got Talent and Australian Idol. Ricki-Lee was rumoured to be in the mix for the cancelled Australia Decides 2023, and again for Eurovision Song Contest 2024, with her track On My Own widely described as having a very “Eurovision” sound.

However, this year she may simply be too busy. Alongside her Australian Idol co-hosting duties, she has also signed on to host the breakfast show on Nova FM Sydney — a schedule that could make a Eurovision bid difficult to fit in.
