Eurovision royalty Dami Im has unveiled one of her most empowering new singles so far with Proud of Me.
Proud of Me is taken from Dami's ARIA No. 1 Jazz & Blues EP, Stormy Weather, which was released back in June.
To promo the new single Dami has released one of her most personal music videos yet in her 13-year career.
Directed by Jacquelynn Auger and shot by DOP Laz Smith (General Practice) at Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University, it features Mercy S as young Dami - and the two come face-to-face in a video built around discomfort, self-doubt, and the aching need to feel enough.
In a press release on the new single Laz spoke about the creative intent behind the shoot:
"Proud of Me is about the constant pursuit of perfection. We wanted the visuals to convey a feeling of discomfort - cutting off-beat in the edit to give you a sense of unresolved feeling, like something doesn't quite feel right. It's a really transparent look into someone who does creative things for a career and feels trapped in this never-ending loop of seeking approval."

Dami also talked about Proud of Me:
"It's about that aching need for validation - not just from others but from myself. I grew up trying so hard to be perfect, to meet expectations and some kind of moving standard that I could never reach. Often the harshest critic is the voice inside my own head. At its heart, this song is a cry for self-acceptance - a longing to finally be proud of myself, just as I am."
The Proud of Me music video has already reached No. 1 on the Australian iTunes music video chart.
Dami has had one big year, from celebrating her 10 years at Eurovision with a re-release of Sound of Silence with the incredible Electric Fields, to then being this year's Aussie Eurovision jury spokesperson.
After Eurovision, throughout June and July, Dami embarked on her Australian tour to promote her latest EP Stormy Weather. You can check out our review of her Brisbane show here.
During the shows Dami performed her own rendition of Sting's Fields of Gold, which was extremely captivating.
The performance made such an impression that in early August Dami released a live version of the song.
Recorded live at Melbourne’s Bird’s Basement on 26 June 2026, the performance captures Dami at her most expressive, accompanied only by her own piano and the understated guitar work of Stephen Ward.
Stripped back and emotionally rich, the recording allows the warmth and clarity of Dami’s voice to take centre stage, giving the timeless song a delicate new depth while remaining true to its enduring beauty.
About the song Dami said:
“Fields of Gold is a timeless song that reminds me of life and its inevitable changing of seasons. It’s beautiful because it’s bittersweet, both sad and joyous at the same time.”
Both Proud of Me and Fields of Gold (Live) are available online for download and streaming.
