Eurovision royalty Dami Im delivered a magical night by the Brisbane River which included originals, covers and jazz classics.
On Saturday night, Brisbane's iconic riverfront provided the perfect setting for an unforgettable evening as Dami Im brought her sold-out Stormy Weather tour to the Brisbane Jazz Club.
Located along the banks of the Brisbane River, the venue offered a stunning backdrop, with the city skyline illuminated and reflected across the water. As if the atmosphere wasn't already special enough, concertgoers were treated to an unexpected bonus during the intermission when a fireworks display erupted along the river.
Dami asked the crowd if they enjoyed the fireworks display, jokingly saying that it was where all of her show budget went.
Dami Im returns to her musical roots
Dressed elegantly in white and accompanied by a superb three-piece band, Dami Im looked completely at home on the Brisbane Jazz Club stage.
The intimate setting allowed audiences to experience a different side of Australia's Eurovision star.
While many know her for soaring pop vocals and arena-sized performances, Saturday night's show was a reminder that jazz has always been at the heart of her musical journey.
Released just a week earlier, Stormy Weather sees Dami embrace the jazz, classical and piano-driven influences that first inspired her love of music.
Recorded with a live jazz trio and lush string arrangements, the six-track EP explores themes of self-reflection, growth and identity, while marking a return to her jazz roots after years spent conquering mainstream charts and international stages.
The audience's warm reception was matched by exciting news from Dami herself. During the show she revealed that Stormy Weather had reached No. 1 on the Jazz & Blues Albums chart, while also climbing to No. 36 on the overall Albums chart and No. 5 on the Australian Albums chart.
A setlist built for jazz lovers
Opening with the EP's title track, Stormy Weather, Dami immediately established the evening's sophisticated tone. Her rich, expressive vocals breathed new life into the Ethel Waters classic, while showcasing the effortless control that has become her trademark.
Original tracks from the new EP sat comfortably alongside jazz standards and fan favourites.
Bubble sparkled with playful charm, while Blue Chalk (fly), where Dami encouraged the audience participate during the song's chorus, highlighted the introspective songwriting that defines much of the new release.
The emotional original Proud of Me proved to be one of the evening's standout moments, with Dami delivering every lyric with heartfelt sincerity.
The jazz standards allowed Dami's musicianship to shine. Her renditions of All Of Me and How High The Moon were delivered with confidence and sophistication. It was impossible not to feel that this is where Dami is truly in her element.
Another highlight came with Summertime, where her vocal phrasing and effortless delivery transported the audience to another era. Throughout the performance, the chemistry between Dami and her band created an atmosphere that felt both polished and intimate.
Balancing nostalgia with new beginnings
The second set continued to blend material from across Dami's catalogue with carefully selected covers.
I Hear A Song and Like a Cello reminded audiences of the jazz influences present in her earlier original work, while her interpretation of The Carpenters' Yesterday Once More was beautifully understated and warmly received.

A particularly memorable moment came during the Norah Jones classic Come Away With Me, which featured Dami accompanying herself, creating one of the evening's most intimate and spine-tingling performances.
Her rendition of Sting's Fields of Gold was equally captivating, demonstrating her ability to make well-known songs feel entirely her own.
Long-time fans were rewarded with performances of her originals, Collide and Marching On, while Sight Of You further highlighted the strength of the new material.
Eurovision still resonates
As the evening approached its conclusion, Dami reflected on the performance that changed her life forever: Australia's 2016 Eurovision entry, Sound of Silence.
Introducing the song, she spoke about how Eurovision opened doors around the world and transformed her career. She also proudly noted that her runner-up finish remains Australia's best-ever result at the contest.
Ten years on, Sound of Silence has lost none of its impact. Dami delivered the song with the same power, precision and emotional intensity that captivated Europe in Stockholm.
For the encore, Dami closed with a commanding rendition of Nina Simone's Feeling Good. It was the perfect finale, bold, confident and full of joy.
