In our recent survey of Aussie fans after Eurovision 2025, we asked them who they'd like to see represent Australia at next year's Contest.
We do need to point out that SBS hasn't confirmed they will be participating in Eurovision 2026.
However, that doesn't stop us from speculating about which artist could represent the nation in Austria or even at a future Contest!
When we ran the poll in 2022, fans put Voyager second and they were selected the following year. In 2023, fans indicated they wanted Electric Fields, and they represented Australia in 2024.
However, Go-Jo wasn't on the radar of fans last year and became an incredibly popular artist for 2025.
So, could someone from this list be chosen next year or could it be someone unexpected?
,
We've looked at the Top 10 artists Aussie fans would like to see on the Eurovision stage and here are the results (with last year's ranking in brackets):
10. Baker Boy (10)
Danzal Baker aka Baker Boy is a Yolngu man from the Northern Territory. The 27-year-old made a splash on the Australian music scene in 2017 with two singles making Triple J's Hottest 100.
He has gone on to become Young Australian of the Year, released his debut album (which charted at no.3) and won five ARIA Awards in 2022.
9. Vanessa Amorosi (-)
Vanessa Amorosi burst onto the Australian music scene in 1999 and 2000 with huge hits including the worldwide hit Absolutely Everybody. She performed at the Olympic Games in Sydney and continued to release high-charting music through the decade.
Her career slowed in the 2010s before returning to the charts with the Top 10 album City of Angels. No stranger to Eurovision, Vanessa competed at Australia Decides in 2020, finishing 3rd with Lessons of Love.
8. The Veronicas (11)
The Veronicas are a pop duo of twins Lisa and Jessica Origliasso from Brisbane. They are best known for their 2007 global hit Untouched that went top 10 in Australia, UK, Canada and Ireland and reached no.17 in the United States.
They have released five albums since then, including two in 2021, both of which went top 10 in Australia. They continue to produce new music and tour across the country.
7. Casey Donovan (6)
Casey became a household name after winning the second season of Australian Idol back in 2004. After releasing music through the 2000s her focus shifted to musical theatre and television.
In the last few years she has taken starring roles in Sister Act, 9 to 5 and Chicago. She also took part in Eurovision - Australia Decides in 2020 with Proud, finishing runner-up despite winning the public vote.
6. Jaguar Jonze (2)
Eurovision fans will be very familiar with Jaguar Jonze thanks to two appearances at Eurovision - Australia Decides. In 2020 she finished 6th with Rabbit Hole and returned in 2021 with Little Fires finishing 3rd after winning the jury vote. She has been a huge advocate for sexual assault victims and won the Women In Music changemaker award for her work.
She continues to release music, including her debut album BUNNY MODE in 2022. Deena (Jaguar Jonze) revealed the emotional toll her advocacy work has taken with the release of her raw EP Victim Impact Statement in 2024.
5. Ricki-Lee (5)
Ricki-Lee took part in Australian Idol in 2004 and went on to join the Young Divas (a group that also included Paulini and Jessica Mauboy). She then had solo success throughout the late 2000s and early 2010s with many hits charting in the Top 20, including Can't Touch This, Do It Like That and Raining Diamonds.
She's also had a successful TV career hosting Australia's Got Talent and Australian Idol. Ricki-Lee was a rumoured artist for the cancelled Australia Decides 2023 and for Eurovision 2024 with her song On My Own sounding very "Eurovision."
4. Kylie Minogue (9)
An international superstar that fans have consistently wanted to appear at Eurovision. Kylie had a Padam Padam inspired renaissance in 2024 and has been touring the world in 2025.
However, as much as fans in both Australia and Europe would love to see her there, the chances are extremely low. Kylie herself said in 2015 that “I would be way too nervous. I think I would be terrified. I don’t think it’s for me.”
3. Sheppard (3)
Sheppard finish on the podium for the second-straight year, no doubt helped by their involvement in Australia's 2025 entry. The group co-wrote Milkshake Man, and George from the band was in Basel, providing backing vocals. The group finished 3rd at the inaugural Eurovision - Australia Decides with their song On My Way.
That song has racked up 37 million Spotify streams (the most of any Eurovision or Australia Decides song from Australia) but doesn't compare to their smash hit Geronimo which has over 650 million. The group also put forward the song Edge of the Earth for Eurovision 2024 , but internal selectors went with Electric Fields. Could they finally make the Eurovision stage in 2026?
2. Dami Im (4),
After winning X Factor Australia in 2013, Dami Im went on to an incredible runner-up finish at Eurovision 2016 with Sound of Silence. She did previously announce she would make a return to Eurovision - Australia Decides in 2021 but that was thwarted because of the pandemic.
She was heavily rumoured to take part in the cancelled Australia Decides 2023 as well as Eurovision 2024. Dami is set to welcome her second child in 2025 which some may think could rule her out for 2026. Unlikely!
Dami continues to make music and was back out performing soon after welcoming her first child, Harrison in 2022. Next year will also be the 10th anniversary of her incredible Eurovision result in Stockholm.
1. Delta Goodrem (1)
Delta tops our survey for the second straight year. She was a name that was much rumoured the year Dami Im was chosen for Eurovision and continues to fuel speculation.
The 40-year-old singer-songwriter burst on the Australian music scene in the early 2000s with her debut album Innocent Eyes. It is the second-highest-selling album of all time in Australia.
As well as chart success here, she had five top 10 singles in the UK. She's also had stints on The Voice Australia but continues to record and release music including the 2024 single Hearts on the Run and her album Bridge Over Troubled Dreams reaching no.1 in 2021.
The artists and acts finishing 11th to 20th with Aussie fans were:
11. Tones & I (20)
12. Samantha Jade (10)
13. Thelma Plum (-)
14. Empire of the Sun (8)
15. Amy Shark (-)
16. Guy Sebastian (15)
17. Tom Cardy (-)
18. Dannii Minogue (-)
19. G-Flip (20)
20. Troye Sivan (7)
Other artists mentioned include former Eurovision and Australia Decides artists Andrew Lambrou, Silia Kapsis, Jude York and Alfie Arcuri.
Plus a cavalcade of artists from the world of rock, pop and country including Matt Corby, Vera Blue, Budjerah, The Presets, 5 Seconds of Summer, TISM, Ruel, Client Liaison, Mia Rodriguez, Melanie Dyer and Brad Cox.
So, will we see these artists perform for Australia at Eurovision in the future?
We'll have to wait for Austria 2026 to find out!
