Drag superstar and beloved Eurovision commentator Courtney Act has once again thrown her (fabulously styled) hat into the Eurovision ring. In a recent interview on The Final FronTia, the podcast hosted by fellow drag queen and British performer Tia Kofi, Courtney made a passionate and cheeky pitch to represent Australia at Eurovision 2027.
The duo sat down for an in-depth conversation that spanned drag, queer identity in the spotlight, pop culture, and of course, Eurovision. Reflecting on their last meeting at the iconic song contest, Courtney took the opportunity to reveal her latest Eurovision ambitions.
“We are in the building of Universal Music,” she said, “and I want to go and beat down some music executive’s door and pitch them this:
"I know I am Australian. I don’t want to represent the UK. I want to represent Australia — but I want a UK record label to sign me to represent Australia at Eurovision in 2027.”
This isn’t the first time Courtney has voiced her Eurovision dreams. Back in June, during an interview with Attitude magazine, she opened up about her strategic approach to becoming Australia’s Eurovision representative.
“To be honest, this is my personal belief,” she said. “I am the host of Eurovision on Australian TV and I’ve been there the last two years, studying, taking notes, and I’ve been crafting the perfect Eurovision entry. I feel I have more understanding — I’m filling up my Eurovision cup — and hopefully one day in the not-too-distant future I will be able to represent Australia. But in the meantime, I’m just learning, absorbing, crafting, so I can create the ultimate Eurovision entry.”

Courtney joined the Australian Eurovision team in 2024 as SBS’s backstage correspondent, instantly winning fans over with her warmth, charisma, and energy. Her interviews with artists provided a lively and insightful behind-the-scenes look at the Contest, quickly making her a standout member of the broadcast crew.
In 2025, she was elevated to an even more prominent role, co-hosting SBS’s Eurovision coverage alongside Tony Armstrong. The pair brought sparkle and spirit to all three live broadcasts from Basel, Switzerland, earning praise from fans across the country.
But Courtney’s Eurovision connection runs even deeper. In 2019, she competed in the very first Eurovision – Australia Decides national final with her high-energy anthem Fight for Love. Dressed in a show-stopping red ensemble complete with a heart-shaped headpiece, she delivered a memorable performance that placed her fourth overall, behind Sheppard, Electric Fields, and the eventual winner, Kate Miller-Heidke.
With her growing Eurovision expertise, undeniable stage presence, and fierce passion for the contest, Courtney’s pitch for 2027 is more than just wishful thinking. It's the next logical step in a journey that's been building for years. Whether she’s dazzling viewers backstage or lighting up the main stage, one thing’s clear: Courtney Act belongs at Eurovision.
