Overnight, in an interview with Attitude, the British gay lifestyle magazine, one half of Australia's Eurovision commentary team, Courtney Act, revealed whether she would ever consider performing at Eurovision as a representative of Australia.
The interview was part of a promotional tour for a new UK show, The Diana Mixtape, which honours the life of the late Princess Diana through iconic pop anthems reimagined and performed by drag queens. Courtney will star alongside Priyanka, Rosé, Divina De Campo, and Kitty Scott-Claus, with the show running at London’s Outernet and Salford’s Lowry from 29 July 2025.
When asked if she would ever compete in Eurovision for Australia, Courtney responded:
To be honest, this is my personal belief: I am the host of Eurovision on Australian TV and I’ve been there the last two years, studying, taking notes, and I’ve been crafting the perfect Eurovision entry this year. I feel I have more understanding – I’m filling up my Eurovision cup – and hopefully one day in the not-too-distant future I will be able to represent Australia at Eurovision. But in the meantime, I’m just learning, absorbing, crafting so I can create the ultimate Eurovision entry.
Courtney Act joined the Australian Eurovision team in 2024 as SBS’s backstage correspondent. Her charisma shone through in interviews with artists, and she offered fans an engaging behind-the-scenes look at the Contest, quickly cementing her place in the Eurovision family.
In 2025, she was announced as one half of Australia’s Eurovision commentary duo, paired with Tony Armstrong. The two co-hosted all three live Eurovision broadcasts from Basel, Switzerland, on SBS.

Of course, Courtney is no stranger to the Eurovision stage. Back in 2019, she competed for a chance to represent Australia in the inaugural Eurovision – Australia Decides national final, held on the Gold Coast.
She performed the anthemic track Fight for Love in her iconic red outfit, complete with a heart-shaped headpiece. The performance earned her a strong fourth-place finish behind Sheppard, Electric Fields, and the winner, Kate Miller-Heidke.
We can’t wait to see what Courtney Act has in store for the future—and whether her Eurovision dream may soon become a reality for Australia.
