The Masked Singer Australia's "baby" revealed as 'Eurovision - Australia Decides' star

Warning: this article contains 'The Masked Singer Australia' spoilers

In tonight's episode of 'The Masked Singer Australia', the judging panel and 'Masked Singer' superfans decided to unmask Baby, who was revealed to be none other than 'Eurovision: Australia Decides' 2019 star and Killing Heidi frontwoman Ella Hooper.

While viewers guessed that Ella was behind the Baby mask, celebrity judges Dannii Minogue, Dave Hughes, Jackie O and Urzila Carlson's guesses for the identity of the celebrity under the mask ranged from Aussie musician Tones and I, to Kelly Osborne, Noah Cyrus and even Bec Hewitt.

Let's get to know more about Ella Hooper by breaking down the cryptic clues from the show:

  • Ella Hooper's hometown is Violet Town, Victoria, Australia. This was referenced many times in the clues as violet is both a flower ("I love flowers, I've been around them all my life") and a crystal ("I crystallised it in my beliefs")

  • She is the younger sister of bandmate Jesse Hooper and "from a young age" she "got used to not being first".

  • Ella Hooper found success at a young age, winning a Triple J Unearthed competition in 1996 with the song 'Kettle'. In Episode 6, Baby was shown having a tea party, and also said "I love the sound of steam". The following episode, Dolly was pictured with blocks with 'JJJ' printed on them.

  • Ella left school after Year 11 to focus on touring with her band Killing Heidi after their big break in the late nineties. This was mentioned in the quote "I'm wise beyond my years, there's nothing school can teach me".

  • Killing Heidi were signed to the record label Wah-Wah, as discussed in the clue "I hate perfection - it makes me go wah! Wah!"

  • Ella was awarded the APRA 2001 Songwriter of the Year award along with her brother Jesse, which was hinted at by a clock in Episode 6 reading "20:01".

  • The book 'Charlotte's Web' as well as many spider-related quotes in Episode 2, are a nod to the Killing Heidi song 'I Am' being on the Spider Man 2 soundtrack.

  • "My beliefs are broad" - Ella toured with the all-female musical lineup of Broad in 2006.

  • In 2011, Ella released her own version of the song 'On The Inside' - the theme song to the TV series 'Prisoner'. The police and prison-related references in Episode 4 pointed towards this song.

  • Ella's role as a host, mentor, and MC for the Telstra Road to Discovery in 2012 was referenced with a clip of babies multiplying. This program scours the country for the next generation of singing and songwriting talent.

  • ABC blocks were shown in tonight's clue package: Ella was one of the team captains of the 2014 revival of the ABC show 'Spicks and Specks'

  • "I've been front and centre" - Ella hosts a podcast called 'Front and Centre', available to download on the LiSTNR app.

Ella Hooper performed the song 'Data Dust' at 'Australia Decides' 2019. She finished in 10th place, with 18 points.
