Australia's Eurovision entries that have charted worldwide

Since Australia’s debut at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest, Australia’s entries have made an impact on music charts at home and internationally.

We take a look at where all of Australia's Eurovision entries (including Jessica Mauboy's Eurovision Interval Act from 2014) have charted worldwide in order of peak position, listing iTunes and national charts, links to sources have also been provided where possible.

Milkshake Man managed to reach the top 50 on the Spotify Viral Songs Chart in Belarus, United Kingdom, Estonia, Iceland, Lithuania, Latvia, Finland, Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Ireland, Ukraine, Switzerland, Israel, Austria, Portugal, Belgium, Luxembourg, Poland, Global, Norway, Spain, Germany, New Zealand, Greece, Romania, Czechia, Cyprus, Slovakia, Italy, Bulgaria and Hungary.

Milkshake Man also managed to reach the top 100 on the Spotify Daily Top Songs in Estonia, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Austria, Belarus, Sweden and Ukraine.

Overall achievements

From 2015 to 2025 Australia’s Eurovision songs have managed to chart in Australia and/or in Europe. Eight entries managed to reached the Top 10 on the Australian iTunes chart, with Sound of Silence and We Got Love reaching the No.1 spot.

Undeniably though, it would be Australia’s debut entry and then our impressive first runner up entry the year later that would make the biggest impact on the charts worldwide.

Australia’s debut in Eurovision with Guy Sebastian’s energetic performance of Tonight Again left a lasting impression, reaching the Top 10 iTunes chart in eight countries. Guy Sebastian was held off the top spot on the Swedish iTunes chart by none other than Måns Zelmerlöw’s 2015 Eurovision winning song Heroes. Interestingly Tonight Again managed to chart in the Caribbean with it reaching No.4 on iTunes in the The Bahamas.

The Australian entry which made the biggest impression globally was Dami Im's Sound of Silence which came in the runners up spot in 2016. The song charted in over 20 charts across Europe and Australia and reached the No. 1 spot on the iTunes chart in Australia, Lithuania and Malta. In Australia Sound of Silence remained on the iTunes chart for 108 days the longest out of all the Australian entries. Dami Im also managed to reach the Top 10 in three national singles chart, in Iceland, Belgium, and a peaked at No.5 on the Australian ARIA charts.

Sheldon Riley and Voyager have had huge success on the independent charts in Australia. Not The Same by Sheldon scored a No.1 on the Australian AIR 100% Independent Singles chart and Promise by Voyager reached No. 1 on the Australian AIR Independent Label Singles chart.

When it comes to Spotify Go-Jo's Milkshake Man has had the biggest impact charting in 33 counties, including a neighbouring non-Eurovision country, New Zealand.

It is great to see Australian acts get exposure on the charts worldwide all thanks to Eurovision.
