Eurovision 2026 is coming, and Aussie fans are deep in wish-list season, dreaming of who could represent which acts could step onto the world’s biggest music stage.

But for some of Australia’s biggest names, the dream stops before it starts.

Touring calendars, life commitments, and jam-packed schedules mean several fan favourites are already effectively ruled out.

With rehearsals beginning in early May and delegations needing to arrive around by then, any artist with May tour dates is out, and anyone finishing late April is very unlikely.

Here’s who we can already rule out of the running to represent Australia.

Definitely out of Eurovision

Vanessa Amorosi

Vanessa finished 3rd at Eurovision – Australia Decides 2020 and ranks regularly in our poll of who fans should represent Australia.

She is on her 25th anniversary tour until 1 May, leaving no time to get over to Europe for Eurovision.

Casey Donovan

Casey was runner-up at Australia Decides 2020 and also regularly polls well with fans wanting her to go to Eurovision. Her This Is Me tour includes shows between 1 May and 24 May, making Eurovision impossible.

Guy Sebastian

Australia’s first Eurovision act in 2015 finishes has multiple tour dates through May 2026, making an repeat appearance in Vienna an impossibility.

Baker Boy

Baker Boy regularly makes the Top 10 of our fan poll and is one of Australia’s most consistently suggested contemporary options. He is touring through to 2 May, right as rehearsals are expected to begin in Vienna.

Regurgitator

The band tour runs through 1 May, clashing directly with the rehearsal period. They’ve never been Eurovision-linked, but fans have floated them occasionally as a chaotic wildcard.

Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers

The ARIA-winning rock band and Triple J favourites are touring through May, right through rehearsals.

Other names also out with May tour dates are Split Enz, Telenova, Boy & Bear and Eskimo Joe.

Very unlikely to be available for Eurovision

Delta Goodrem

Delta topped our poll of who fans would like to see represent Australia at Eurovision. She is consistently mentioned in rumours and in forums by hopeful fans.

However, sadly for them, she is booked for a Fiji event from 20–26 April, leaving very little time for staging and travel. It's unlikely, but not impossible, to have such a quick turnaround.

Sheppard

The Brisbane band placed 3rd at Australia Decides 2019 and wrote Australia’s 2025 Eurovision song Milkshake Man.

One member, Amy Sheppard, is due to give birth in February 2026, making a full-band Eurovision outing unlikely (but not impossible). However, lead singer George, who provided backing vocals for Go-Jo, as a solo, can't be ruled out.

Who isn't ruled out

These fan-favourites currently have no May 2026 dates announced:

Dami Im, Kylie Minogue, Ricki-Lee, The Veronicas and Jaguar Jonze.

However, Dami Im is touring in June.
