October has seen a surge in past Australian Eurovision and ‘Eurovision - Australia Decides’ artists preparing for new tours and shows across the country. There have also been new album releases and announcements!
Today we go through all the latest music releases, show and tour news from the following Australian Eurovision artists:
Dami Im - ‘Paper Dragon (Piano Version)’
Released: 09 October 2020
Fresh off the stage from her Queensland ‘Paper Dragon Tour’, where many shows sold out, Dami Im released a piano version of her latest single ‘Paper Dragon’. In an interview with Aussievision Dami revealed how the song was written as her ‘Eurovision - Australia Decides 2021’ entry. For those who couldn’t make it to Dami’s live shows in Queensland you're in luck! Dami will be performing her concert online in the ‘Paper Dragon Tour - LIVESTREAM CONCERT’ on October 31. Kate Miller-Heidke - ‘Little Roots, Little Shoots’
Released: 09 October 2020
Not long before the release of her new album ‘Child In Reverse’, on October 30, Kate Miller-Heidke revealed the fourth single off the new album. ‘Little Roots, Little Shoots’ is co-written by Kate Miller-Heidke together with her husband Keir Nuttall with Evan Klar, Hailey Collier and Lally Katz, some of whom have contributed to previous releases songs from her new album, including ‘A Quiet Voice’ and ‘Deluded’. Kate Miller-Heidke has also announced a new live show in her hometown Brisbane called ‘Kate Miller-Heidke Live and Intimate’ set for November 20 at the Fortitude Music Hall. Seats are limited to tables and are selling fast.
Guy Sebastian - ‘T.R.U.T.H.’ Album
Released: 16 October 2020
This month saw the release of Guy’s highly anticipated ninth album ’T.R.U.T.H.’ which has spawned two Top 10 hits ‘Choir’ and ‘Standing With You’ and his latest single release ‘Love On Display’.
The music video for ‘Love on Display’ premiered on October 21. The very colourful and energetic video centres around a love museum depicts many relationships and features his wife Jules.
Anja Nissen - ‘Can’t Do This’
Released: 23 October 2020
The winner of series three of The Voice Australia in 2014 and Denmark’s Eurovision representative in 2017 has released her second single release this year ‘Can’t Do This’. It is her second single release as an independent artist after she released ‘If We Only Had Tonight’ back in July. The song is co-written by Anja together with Ludvig Brygmann, who produced Anja’s previous single.
Tigerlily feat. AYDAN 'Me, You & Tequila’
Released: 23 October 2020
‘Eurovision - Australia Decides 2019’ participant Aydan who finished in sixth place with ‘Dust’, has collaborated with Australian DJ and producer Tigerlily in 'Me, You & Tequila’. It is Tigerlily’s third song release this year and Aydan's second after his release of ‘Wide Awake’ earlier in the year.
Sheppard - ‘Kaleidoscope Eyes’ Album
To Be Released: 19 February 2021
Hot off the heels from their half-time 2020 AFL Grand Final performance, Sheppard announced that their highly anticipated album ‘Kaleidoscope Eyes’ will be released in February next year. The album is a collection of songs that Sheppard have released one per month over the course of 2020, each with an accompanying music video. George Sheppard has stated "Our forthcoming album isn't necessarily a concept album, but there's definitely a cohesive theme running throughout the songs and a linear narrative that I hope people are able to piece together as the year goes on and the album grows.”
Sheppard’s October song release ‘Animals’ is set for release on October 30 along with a music video.

Jessica Mauboy - ‘Jessica Mauboy - Live in Concert’
Australia’s 2018 Eurovision representative Jessica Mauboy will be performing in her one and only Sydney live concert for 2020 ‘Jessica Mauboy - Live in Concert’. The show is set for November 21 at the Sydney Coliseum Theatre. Book your tickets here.
Courtney Act - ‘Death Drop - A Dragatha Christie Murder-Mystery’
Courtney Act will join forces with Monét X Change, from the tenth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race, in this outrageous, socially distanced comedy ‘Death Drop - A Dragatha Christie Murder-Mystery’ at the Garrick Theatre in London from December 3 2020 - January 17 2021.
Set in the early 90s, Death Drop sees our queens attend a party to die for (literally) on Tuck Island. As each guest reveals the sordid secrets of their suspicious past, they start disappearing one-by-one – leading to a bone-chilling, gut-busting conclusion as the culprit is revealed. Electric Fields - ‘Electric Fields Live’
Australia Decides 2019 runner-up Electric Fields have had a big month. Zaachariaha Fielding of Electric Fields won the prestigious Live Voice of the Year Award, beating out competition from some of Australia's best live performers, including Ngaiire, Sampa the Great, Stella Donnelly, and even Australia's 2021 Eurovision representative Montaigne.
Electric Fields also had the privilege in performing at the 2020 AFL Grand Final at the GABBA. They also announced a set of new shows in Queensland at The Tivoli in Brisbane on November 13 and 14 2020.
Jaguar Jonze - ‘Deadalive November Tour’
Jaguar Jonze was recently voted as the ‘Best Live act for QLD’ at the National Live Music Awards and she is back on the road for the ‘Deadalive November Tour’ in Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia. Tickets are selling fast, for more details and to book click here.
Casey Donovan - ‘The Space’ Podcast
Casey Donovan is the host of a new NOVA Entertainment about mindfulness. Described as “wellness with the woo-woo”, the podcast will comprise of two mini episodes released each day between Monday and Friday and a bonus episode on Saturday.
Talking about the podcast Casey has stated “The one thing I got told was ‘Do not do a podcast during COVID’, but how could I not want to be part of something that is insightful and practical at the same time? This podcast is such a great initiative to get a little bit of wellness in your day in a down-to-earth, quick and fun way. Mark Vincent - ‘With all my love at Christmas’ Show
Mark Vincent’s annual Christmas Show will take place at the Doltone House, Sylvania Waters in NSW. Details here. He has been teasing that he is recording new music which is expected to be released real soon. Montaigne - ‘SummerSalt 2021'

Montaigne - ‘Express Yourself - Queer Discovery’ Show
Montaigne is set to headline the first showcase series of ‘Express Yourself - Queer Discovery’ in a partnership between APRA AMCOS and Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras. The series will be looking for up and coming queer talent across Australia.
The series there will be three showcases which will be shown in the lead up to Mardi Gras 2021. Performers will audition in front of quest judges and win the chance to perform at Mardi Gras 2021.
