Montaigne releases out-of-this-world new single 'Now (In Space)'

Today, five months after her performance of 'Technicolour' at the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest, Montaigne has released the debut single 'Now (In Space)' from her upcoming third studio album.

After teasing the song on social media, Montaigne took to Twitter to share her feelings about releasing new music.

Montaigne was the winner of 'Eurovision - Australia Decides 2020'. Her song 'Don't Break Me' was the Australian entry at the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest, however, the Contest was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2021, Montaigne was chosen to represent Australia at the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest with the song 'Technicolour', which came 14th in semi-final 1.

In addition to being Australia's Eurovision representative this year, Montaigne also recorded and released the song 'My Life Is Better With You', the theme song from the podcast 'My Brother, My Brother And Me' in August. In September, Montaigne was named the ambassador for the inaugural Environmental Music Prize in recognition of her climate change activism.

Montaigne has promised fans a stellar "space girl summer" as the artist reaches new horizons in her music career. She has described her upcoming release as the "peak" of her career, and even hinted at some exciting collaborations on the album, saying:

"The album is literally...I can't even begin to...it is going to be the peak of my career. Hands down. My peak. At least to me. It's full on how much this thing has come to completely stun & amaze me with regards to who has decided to be on it & how beautiful & wholesome it is."

Montaigne's intergalactic third album, whose title is yet to be revealed, will be released in 2022, following on from her 2019 sophomore album 'Complex'.

Also in 2022, Montaigne will be touring around Australia, after she postponed some of her 2021 shows due to lockdowns. You can purchase tickets for Montaigne's live concerts here.

The music video for 'Now (In Space)' has been described by Montaigne as "fun and funny" with "cute cosmic rom com vibes". The 'Technicolour' singer can be seen sporting a new look, trading her rainbow buzzcut for a bleached blonde hairdo.

The 'Now (In Space)' music video will be premiering on YouTube tonight at 5:30pm AEDT, where fans will be able to join Montaigne in her live chat on the platform.
