Eurovision 2022 runner-up Sam Ryder releases cover of Aussie classic 'You're The Voice'

Eurovision 2022 runner-up Sam Ryder has released a cover of the John Farnham Aussie classic 'You're The Voice'.

The release is part of the deluxe edition of his new debut album, ‘There’s Nothing But Space, Man!’. The standard edition came out on December 9, which you read all about here. The deluxe edition includes seven additional songs, 'You're The Voice' cover, two unreleased songs, and four acoustic versions of songs from the album.

The album comes after a huge year for Sam where back in May he represented the United Kingdom at Eurovision with the song 'SPACE MAN'. He won the jury vote and finished in the runner-up spot giving the UK their best result at Eurovision in 24 years.

Sam initially sung 'You're The Voice' live last month on 'Strictly Come Dancing' for the Strictly Pros at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom on the BBC.

Sam follows the foot steps of other past Eurovision artists who have also covered the infamous song, 'You're The Voice'.

Also almost every Australian Eurovision artist has performed 'You're the Voice' at some stage in their career. You can check out all their performances here.

'You’re The Voice’ is one of the unofficial anthems of Australia. It was released by Australian adult contemporary singer John Farnham back in 1986 ahead of the release of his 12th studio album ‘Whispering Jack’.

The power ballad went on to peak at the No.1 spot on the singles chart in Australia. It also became popular across Europe reaching No.1 in Sweden and West Germany, No. 6 in the UK and across the Atlantic No. 82 on the US Billboard Hot 100.

The song became an 80s anthem, but over time it has become more of an anthem for the current youth calling out for change and to be heard.

You can find 'You're The Voice - Live from Blackpool Ballroom Version' on ‘There’s Nothing but Space, Man!’ Deluxe Edition which is available for download and streaming on all music platforms.
