Australia's stand-in Eurovision 2025 rehearsal revealed

The footage from Australia's stand-in rehearsals for Eurovision 2025 has been revealed.


Before artists hit the ground at the Eurovision Song Contest, a little-known but crucial part of the preparation process takes place behind the scenes: the stand-in rehearsals.


These rehearsals are conducted weeks before the official Eurovision rehearsals begin, and they play a key role in testing the stage, camera angles, lighting, and effects.


To make these happen, local performers — often from the host country — are brought in to “stand in” for each act. These performers rehearse each country’s song based on the delegation’s submitted performance plan, which includes details like choreography, props, camera shots, and lighting cues.


It’s an opportunity for the production team to work out any technical issues and get a clear idea of how the show will look before the real artists hit the stage.


Over the last week, many of the stand-in rehearsals have been made public/leaked (however you want to look at it).


This included Australia with performer Jorge Barros sharing his stand-in rehearsal for Autsralia over two TikToks.

You can see from the stand-in rehearsal, that the performance remained very similar.


However, it does appear many on-screen graphics were removed ahead of Go-Jo's performance in Basel.
