ABBA’s new album ‘Voyage’ debuts at No. 1 on the Australian ARIA album chart

ABBA, have rocketed to the No. 1 spot on the ARIA album chart, with 'Voyage'. It is their first No. 1 album in Australia in 29 years, and fifth No. 1 album overall.

They knocked off Ed Sheeran with his new album release '=' after it sat at the top spot for only a single week.

It has been 40 years since ABBA split, with the Swedish Eurovision 1974 winning artists, returning with 'Voyage', their ninth studio album release on November 5.

The Swedish bands compilation album, 'ABBA Gold: Greatest Hits' was the last album to make it to No. 1 in Australia upon its release in 1992. It spent four consecutive weeks at No. 1 and has since gone 17 times platinum in Australia, selling over one million units.

Their last studio album to reach the top spot in Australia is 'Arrival' released in 1976 which now has gone 18 times platinum.

When it comes to downloads, 'Voyage' reached No. 1 on the Australian iTunes album chart straight after its release, and remained there for a week.

All the songs from the album have charted on the Australia iTunes singles chart:

'Don’t Shut Me Down' - No. 1

'I Still Have Faith In You' - No. 2

'Just A Notion' - No. 10

'I Can Be That Woman' - No. 35

'No Doubt About It' - No. 39

'When You Danced With Me' - No. 40

'Little Things' - No. 42

'Keep An Eye On Dan' - No. 56

'Ode To Freedom' - No. 61

'Bumblebee' - No. 68

ABBA's first single releases from 'Voyage', 'I Still Have Faith In You' and 'Don’t Shut Me Down' charted in the top 40 on the ARIA singles chart back in September. ‘I Still Have Faith In You’ landed at No. 39 and ‘Don’t Shut Me Down’ made its debut at No. 27.

In the United States, Billboard are predicting a top 5 spot for 'Voyage' on the Billboard 200 and in the United Kingdom 'Voyage' is expected to comfortably cruise at No.1 on the album chart and give the band their 10th No. 1 album there.
