Eurovision - Australia Decides star Sheppard has released their first new single in over a year: Beautiful Nothing.

The band posted to Instagram explaining the motivation behind the song.

"If life has you overwhelmed, anxious, or just needing a day to switch off from the grind, we wrote this for you," they said.

The release comes off a big year for the members of Sheppard.

George Sheppard co-wrote Australia's Eurovision entry Milkshake Man and provided backing vocals at the Contest.

Amy Sheppard released her solo album Born to Be Country which went No.1 on the ARIA Country Album charts last week.

She also fell pregnant with husband Lachlan Stuart after she documented their fertility struggles.

The band also toured North America and Europe off the back of their ARIA Top 10 album Zora.

Sheppard and Eurovision

Sheppard has long been associated with Eurovision.

After finishing 3rd at the inaugural Eurovision - Australia Decides with On My Way, they have written and submitted songs for the Contest.

Could the next few years see the band or their members involved again somehow?

We'll have to wait and see to find out.
