Multiple Eurovision artists win 2023 MTV EMAs amid event cancellation



The 2023 MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs) that were set to take place on November 5, 2023 at the Paris Nord Villepinte in Paris, France, were cancelled. An announcement was made on October 19 that the event will be cancelled for the first time in their history due to the 2023 Israel–Hamas war.


Despite the cancellation, the voting remained open until October 31 and the winning artists, have today been revealed. It is expected the artists will receive their awards at a later date.


The Eurovision acts that won 2023 MTV EMAs include:

  • Best Rock: Måneskin

  • Best Italian Act: Måneskin

  • Best Nordic Act: Käärijä

  • Best Swiss Act: Gjon’s Tears


A record of eight Eurovision artists were announced as nominees for this years MTV EMAs. Artists that missed out on awards in their categories include:

  • Best Live: Måneskin

  • Best Group: Måneskin

  • Best Push: Sam Ryder

  • Best Dutch Act: S10

  • Best Nordic Act: Alessandra and Loreen

Eurovision 2023 artist Noa Kirel was nominated for Best Israeli Act but the category was removed from the official list by MTV, which you can check out here.
