Media tsunami for Delta's Eclipse reveal for Eurovision 2026

We wrap up the incredible amount of media coverage Delta Goodrem received after her announcement as Australia's Eurovision 2026 artist.
An avalanche, a tidal wave, a deluge of positive media coverage has welcomed Delta Goodrem as Australia's entrant for Vienna 2026.
Within hours of her announcement, the coverage had snowballed across television, newspapers, radio and social media around the world.
Australian outlets jumped on the story immediately, with ABC News reporting that the singer was “honoured” to represent the country, while Sky News aired clips of Delta speaking about the dream opportunity.
Ten News had a lengthy interview with Delta and veteran entertainment reporter Angela Bishop.
Over at news.com.au, journalists even linked her recent Bondi Festival outfit to a clever Easter egg hinting at the Eurovision reveal.
The story spread quickly across breakfast television too, with the nationally broadcast Today Show Australia running interviews and performance clips that quickly racked up thousands of views online.
Even huge traditional print media mastheads (remember newspapers?), The Guardian, The Age, The Sydney Morning Herald and Brisbane Times, called it “Delta’s dawn,” describing Australia’s queen of pop taking on the Eurovision juggernaut.
Meanwhile, lifestyle outlets such as 9Honey focused on her performance of Eclipse, giving readers a taste of the energy the Innocent Eyes artist plans to bring to Vienna.
International media also reacted positively with The Guardian UK, Billboard and Variety both reported on the announcement, highlighting Delta's long career and the significance of Australia sending one of its biggest pop exports to Eurovision.
Importantly for votes and for international awareness, British tabloids such as both the Scottish and British mastheads of The Sun reported on Delta's announcement, noting her connection to the iconic Australian series Neighbours while celebrating her Eurovision ambitions. Delta even got a brief plug on BBC radio!
Back home, the coverage has also been playful and celebratory. Youth outlet Pedestrian.tv declared that Goodrem had “finally said yes” to Eurovision after years of speculation. Outlets such Rolling Stone Australia, Austalian Women's Weekly, New Idea, LGBTQIA outlet QNews and a raft of radio stations nationwide have celebrated the announcement.
From rumours first swirling in June last year to now with Eclipse gathering pace, the enormous media coverage in the first few hours of announcement shows just how pumped Aussies and Delta fans abroad are for her to be centre stage in Vienna.
The exposure has no doubt helped boost the release, with Eclipse reaching the Australian music chart and other charts globally.
