Latino Australian singer-songwriter Jucaso has reached the semi-finals of 'Una voce per San Marino (UVPSM) 2024', San Marino's Eurovision national selection show.

The Brisbane-based artist made it through the auditions (which over 700 people took part) to be one of 129 artists set to compete in one of four semi-finals. Jucaso will be competing in semi-final two which will take place in San Marino on February 12 2024.

Camilo, known by his stage name Jucaso, started songwriting when he was 14 years old and was part of a music band at a young age, which awakened his interest in music. He has participated in different music festivals while he was living in Colombia.

In 2022 Jucaso decided to get back into music and released his first ever single, a slow-tempo pop dance song, 'I Wanna Kiss Tonight'. The song is about friends going to the club to dance and hoping to find "that someone" to share a kiss with on the dancefloor.

His music style is described as a mixture of pop, dance, and electro with his songs about his personal experiences.

Jucaso is not the first Australian to compete in San Marino's national final in recent years.

Back in 2022 Melbourne artists Tanzer and Jess Condon both auditioned with Jess making the semi-final round.

Last year The Voice Australia winner and 'Eurovision - Australia Decides' 2019 artist Alfie Arcuri made it to the Final of UVPSM where he competed with the self-penned ballad 'Collide'. Alfie finishing outside of the top 10 but won the 'Premio Della Critica' (the Critics) award for the night.

Ahead of Jucaso's Eurovision journey to San Marino, a GoFundMe page has been set up for anyone who would like to show their support in Jucaso realising his Eurovision dream. You can find the GoFundMe page here.

The UVPSM semi-finals will take place from February 15 to 16. The UVPSM Final will then be held on February 24 where the winner will go on to represent the microstate of San Marino on the big Eurovision stage in Malmö this year.
