Is this Aussie Eurovision star set to join Snoop Dogg at the AFL Grand Final?

Rehearsal footage may have revealed an Australian Eurovision star who will perform with Snoop Dogg at the AFL Grand Final.

One of Australia's biggest sporting events takes place today - the AFL Grand Final.

And the AFL have spared no expense bringing out American superstar Snoop Dogg for the pre-game entertainment.

He joins other names like Katy Perry, Robbie Williams, KISS and The Killers who have done the gig in recent years.

After dress rehearsals on Thursday, some details of the performance have leaked out, and it looks like a Eurovision star will be joining him.

The American rapper was spotted performing with none other than Jessica Mauboy.

The Australian star competed for Australia in Eurovision 2018 with We Got Love.

She qualified for the final, finishing 20th, but her song has gone on to another life since.

Jess performed on Palm Island in Queensland yesterday, but posted on her Instagram that she was headed back to Melbourne that day.

Snoop and Jess have worked together before

Snoop and Jess have collaborated in the past, releasing the song Get 'Em Girls in 2010.

It reached No.19 on the ARIA Charts.

Jess has also worked with other rappers, including Flo Rida (also of San Marino Eurovision fame), Ludacris and Sean Kingston.

Snoop controversy

The AFL has been criticised for booking Snoop Dogg to perform at the Grand Final.

This is because of a previous history of homophobic lyrics and recent comments about Pixar’s Lightyear that were widely condemned.

Although an apology appeared on his Instagram, hthat is team later denied he wrote it.

The decision has been labelled hypocritical given the league’s recent efforts to crack down on homophobic behaviour, including suspensions for players using slurs.

Eurovision acts aren't new to the AFL Grand Final

Many Eurovision stars have performed on AFL Grand Final day.

Olivia Newton-John, Dami Im, Guy Sebastian, Electric Fields and Kate Miller-Heidke are just some of those who have sung.

Many have performed the national anthem but others have been part of the main act.
