Now we are in 2025, we can officially say the unofficial Queen of Iceland, Hera Björk, is coming to Australia this year!
While this has been a long time coming (thanks to a certain pandemic) Hera will be making the most of her time in Australia by gracing our shores in January and February with an epic list of events as part of her Queen of Effing Everything tour.
We have compiled all the information you need to make sure you do not miss out on seeing Hera's comedy cabaret show!
Melbourne
19 January 2025
Hera will be a headline act at the Midsumma Carnival's queer-day-out that starts 22 days of celebration. The gig is free and will be in the Alexandra Gardens by the Yarra River. For more information, visit the festival's website.
21, 23, 24 and 25 January 2025
Hera's residency cabaret show Queen of Effing Everything will be held at the Footscray Community Bar in Footscray for four nights. To grab a ticket before they sell out, you can go here.
22 January 2025
This is not one we had on our bingo card! Hera will be performing a special show - Queen of the Iceland, as a fundraiser for young ice skaters from diverse backgrounds who face financial hardship. The show will see Hera singing in the middle of an ice rink accompanied by local skaters on the ice performing to Eurovision songs.
The show will be held at the O'Brien Icehouse skating rink in Docklands. You can find more information including how to get tickets here.
Brisbane
27 January 2025
Hera will be bringing her Queen of Effing Everything show to Brisbane on 27 January at the The Brightside in Fortitude Valley. Tickets to the Brisbane show can be bought here.
Sydney
30 January and 1 February 2025
Hera will perform two Queen of Effing Everything shows in Sydney on 30 January and 1 February at the Bridge Hotel in Rozelle. You can grab tickets here.
Perth
3 February 2025
One show of Queen of Effing Everything will be performed in Perth at Connections in Northbridge. You can grab your tickets here - and there are still meet and greet tickets available!
Adelaide
5 February 2025
Hera's last show of her Australian tour will be in Adelaide on 5 February 2025 at the Jade in Adelaide City. There are also meet and greet tickets still available in Adelaide, so grab your tickets here.
What can we expect from the tour
Back in November we spoke to Hera about her tour and she told us coming to Australia was a dream come true for her after meeting Aussies in 2010.
The show is about Hera, and about her life. There will be stories and lots of laughs, as well as music and dancing. The tour website describes the Queen of Effing Everything tour as:
"This is a not-to-be-missed intimate insight into the life of Iceland's unofficial leading lady, who is as comfortable in gumboots as she is in glittering gowns. The show is a candid musical monologue about how a young girl from Reykjavik dreamed of becoming an Olympic gymnast, but instead succeeded in shaping her life as a go-getting, toilet-scrubbing Diva of the Eurovision scene."
But don't go home after the show has ended, there will be a Euro Disco playing Eurovision songs!
