Eurovision 2023: Finland's Käärijä releases reggae version of 'Cha Cha Cha'

One of the favourites for this year's Eurovision crown has spun his entry on its head and released a reggae version of his popular track.

Finland's Käärijä released the new take on 'Cha Cha Cha' through the contest's official Youtube channel on Saturday morning (AEST), as part of the first episode of the 'Eurovision... A Little Bit More' series. You can watch the full episode here.

The first episode featured 18 different tracks from this year's competitors, including Australia's very own Voyager covering fellow Aussie - and Cyprus' representative - Andrew Lambrou's track 'Break A Broken Heart'.

Australia's own Andrew Lambrou who is representing Cyprus this year covered Marija Šerifović's Eurovision winning song 'Molitva' while playing piano.

Käärijä's two-minute reggae take on 'Cha Cha Cha' is shorter than the original and a dramatic change from the fusion of electro, metal and disco which has made him such a fan favourite in the lead-up to next's month competition in Liverpool.

But the reworking actually works really well, with Käärijä showing off different vocal styles and a few new "swaggery" dance moves, along with the ones he's been using ever since he debuted the song live in his landslide victory at UMK 2023 in February.

In fact, it might just be the perfect thing for Eurovision fans to listen to next month when they wake up from a night of big partying. You can check it out below:

Käärijä was revealed in the Aussievision podcast with Mike and Dale as the Aussievision team's favourite entry out of all 37 entries this year (including yours truly).

He also won Aussievision's public vote poll with all our readers, narrowly ahead of the bookies' favourite, Sweden's Loreen and her song 'Tattoo'.
