Australia's most successful Eurovision representative Dami Im, who finished in runner-up place in 2016 with 'Sound of Silence', has released a cover of The Wiggles classic 'Big Red Car' as part of tribute songs for The Wiggles new album 'ReWiggled' released today.
'ReWiggled' “celebrates both the enduring nature of The Wiggles’ songbook, and also The Wiggles’ own lifetime love of music”.
The Wiggle’s current line-up and its original members join forces in the epic new double album, with help from some of Australia best artists.
Dami is joined by other Aussie artists including Spacey Jane, The Chats, DZ Deathrays, Stella Donnelly, San Cisco, Emily Wurramara, Donny Benet, Emma Donovan and The Putbacks, Custard, Melbourne Ska Orchestra, Luca Brasi, and more.
The other part of 'Rewiggled' features The Wiggles covering classic songs, including their unforgettable triple j Like A Version cover of Tame Impala’s ‘Elephant’, which reached No. 1 on the Triple J's Hottest 100 this year.
Dami's participation in this project isn't her first time she has collaborated with The Wiggles.
Back in September last year Dami Im collaborated with The Wiggles, in a song celebrating the 60th anniversary of Australian - Korean diplomatic relations. They collaborated in a version of 'We're All Fruit Salad' sung in English and Korean.
Ahead of the 'Big Red Car' release Dami shared a bit about her covering The Wiggles classic:
"I liked ‘Big Red Car’ for its simple but feel good lyrics. There was room for me to mould it into something completely different. I worked on it with Garrett Kato who produced the track and we turned it into a soft R&B arrangement with a subtle hip hop beat."
