Australia's 2026 Eurovision artist Delta Goodrem has continued her Eurovision promotion in the United Kingdom, where she appeared on BBC's Radio 2 Breakfast Show.

The appearance comes after she was seen on BBC's The One Show and ITV's This Morning, as well as delighting fans with a surprise pop-up performance in London.

Host Gary Davies interviewed the Eclipse singer about her career, her Eurovision journey, preparations for the upcoming performance on one of the world's biggest stages, and even asked some questions about her fellow competitors at this year's Eurovision Song Contest.

Delta Goodrem began the interview by being presented with the statistic that one in four homes in Australia has at least one of her albums, with the singer remarking:

"It is true! I feel very grateful for my beautiful country, I always say I don't know what I did to the other three houses, like what was wrong? I need to work harder to make sure I'm a part of all the homes!"

Delta was also asked about the beginnings of her career, saying: "My very first role was on a prime-time show called Hey Dad and A Country Practice, and it was actually completely by accident! My family are not a part of the industry in anyway, although [...] they were very supportive that I loved the arts naturally, and I went to a local drama school and piano school, and just gravitated to music and storytelling and I started composing music as soon as I started learning the piano. As a songwriter, I realised you could put your feelings and emotions into the compositions I was discovering on the piano."

After speaking about her time on Neighbours, as well as how she came to be a Eurovision contestant, Delta Goodrem was asked about her approach to Eurovision, responding: "We're always proud! [...] I think we're going in with a positive mindset, I'm there representing my country, and you give it everything you've got, I stay true to what I do. I look at this as a celebration, I feel like I have been representing my home country for a long time in many ways, being a part of the furniture there. [...] I really want to enjoy this, enjoy all the music that surrounds it and the love of the Eurovision community, and just put on a show! Let's just go and enjoy the experience together!"

When asked to give listeners an idea of what the stage performance will be like, Delta revealed "It's such a holistic energy and I'm excited what we're pulling together, I am actually working with an incredible UK team here! Obviously, it's a little too far for me to bring over an entire stage from Australia, but we're very excited, we're working with Black Skull and Dan and Ross."

But the Eclipse singer remained tight-lipped about the specifics of her staging, saying: "That's as much as I've got, Gary!"

Delta also gave her thoughts on the other Eurovision 2026 entries, saying:

"I've actually discovered that now every single year, I'm going to have a new playlist, because I absolutely love the songs! It's hard to find new songs all the time, and there's so many different countries that I've loved getting to know the songs. Truthfully, I've got a whole new playlist that I'm enjoying from the Eurovision community!"

Delta was then asked about who she considers her biggest threat in the Eurovision 2026 competition, with the Aussie artist responding:

"I've been going through phases of 'oh I love this artist!' and you do bond and you feel like you make new friends when we were in Oslo doing the pre-party for Eurovision, I really bonded with a couple of the artists, I was like 'oh I love them' but you do have to run your own race and do the best you can do."

Commenting on her friendly rivalry with Boy George, Delta said: "We're used to battling, him and I, when we were on The Voice, it was Team George and Team Delta, so we're back at it again!"

Delta showed her appreciation for the United Kingdom's Eurovision 2026 artist LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER, saying: "He's so talented, it's amazing how he can do so many different instruments by engineering!"

When asked her thoughts on his song Eins Zwei Drei, Delta commented: "It's so creative, it's so interesting, I can only imagine what his staging is, if there's anyone's staging I want to work out, it's Sam's, because I think with how he creates it all [...] he's so intelligent with how he makes sounds with all his computers, so I think he's going to be really amazing on stage!" Delta was reportedly "immediately fist-pumping" upon hearing the United Kingdom's 2026 Eurovision entry.

When asked about her thoughts on Jalla by Antigoni, the Cypriot entry for Eurovision 2026, Delta remarked: "It gets stuck in your head, it's very, very catchy!"

Turning her attention to this year's French Eurovision entry, Delta noted: "Oh, they're always strong, France! They have amazing music!" Delta started singing along to the chorus of Regarde ! commenting on the French Eurovision entry for 2026: "The strings! It's strong, it's strong!" Although commenting that she could do so "after a bit of warm up", Delta declined to sing the operatic part of the 2026 French Eurovision entry on The BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show, exclaiming: "This is a bit too early for this!"

When host Gary Davies commented on her lack of fear during important performances, Delta replied:

"I love music, I'm moved by music, I am inspired to create music, I have been from day one, and I love the arts across the board, whether it's film or TV or music, I love that connection with people and that's what drives me."

Delta also introduced the concept of the Eurovision preview parties to the Radio 2 Breakfast Show host and listeners, explaining "You know, basically, everybody gets up and sings their song, and there's many different artists, and it's sort of, the Eurovision community and [...] it's getting the community to know the songs, getting the fans to get to know the songs; see the performances."

When asked about her preparations for Eurovision, Delta laughed "I actually have shows that I booked a year in advance in Fiji [...] I didn't [cancel them]! [...] When there was a rumbling that I was doing Eurovision, it was like 'no, no, she's in Fiji' and I thought...yep, I'm in Fiji the week before Eurovision! But when people have already booked to come see the show, I'm excited to see them all, and we'll have a sing of Eclipse on the beach!"

The Australian singer then affirmed that she was ready to give it her all for "this wonderful occasion" of Eurovision, with the promise of new music on the way.

BBC Radio 2 host Gary Davies concluded the interview by telling Delta Goodrem: "I hope you come second! But if you win, I'll be very proud of you!"
