About the artist

Subwoolfer are a group who perform as two lead performers in yellow wolf suits, and a DJing astronaut. They first appearing in 2021 and so far their identities have not been revealed, however their bio online introduces them as...

"The biggest band in the Galaxy, first formed 4.5 billion years ago on their home planet, the moon. Since then the brothers 'Keith' and 'Jim' have conquered the music scene on every planet, making them the most successful pop group ever".

'Give That Wolf A Banana' is the group's first musical release.

About the song

In keeping with the group's story, 'Give That Wolf A Banana' is credited as being written by Keith and Jim, and produced by DJ Astronaut. It was released in January on Universal Records.

It's an electronic dance-pop track, with humorous and seemingly random lyrics. The song has been promoted extensively on social media, and peaked at Number 4 on the Norwegian chart.

While it's not possible to tell which artists are singing in the live performance, a popular theory is that DJ Astronaut is the one performing the live vocals.

How they were chosen for Eurovision

Norway selects their entry via their national final 'Melodi Grand Prix' (MGP). In November 2021 the national broadcaster NRK announced they had selected 21 artists to take part in MGP 2022, and in January the artists were announced. Subwoolfer were one of five pre-qualified acts to be announced, that would go straight to the Final.

At the Final, they made it through to the Gold Duel and were up against Northkid with their song 'Someone'. Subwoolfer won with 54.11% of the total vote.
