It has only been eight weeks since Duncan Laurence's 'Arcade' passed 200 million streams on Spotify, the Eurovision winning song has now clocked up another 100 million streams on Spotify to now amass over 300 million Spotify streams.
‘Arcade’ is hitting a lot of milestones! Earlier in the week the 'Arcade' hit the US Billboard Hot 100 at No. 100, the first time a Eurovision song has featured in the chart on over 24 years since Gina G’s ‘Oh Ahh Just a Little Bit…’ peaked at No. 12 in 1997.
The song has also reached gold status in the United States seeking over 500,000 certified units and sales.
Duncan Laurence won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2019 in Tel Aviv, Israel, with a spectacular and emotional performance of ‘Arcade’ representing the Netherlands. His win gave the Netherlands their fifth Eurovision win.
Back in early January we found that ‘Arcade’ surpassed ‘Euphoria’ as the most streamed Eurovision winning song on Spotify! Only weeks later 'Arcade' beat Italy's Eurovision 2019 entry 'Solidi' by Mahmood to be the most streamed Eurovision song ever on Spotify.
The momentum behind the songs return to the charts began at the end of 2020 when the song became popular on TikTok. The songs success on TikTok seems to have stemmed from Harry Potter fans who were making videos using cut scenes from the Harry Potter films to show case the good in Draco Malfoy's character.
‘Arcade’ mania has not just hit the United States, the song has charted on Spotify in South America, Asia and Australia.
