Aussie artists are starting to take over Eurovision in a big way.

We already have two Australian acts in the Eurovision 2023 semi-final 2 with Voyager representing Australia and Andrew Lambrou representing Cyprus. During the national final season Alfie Arcuri from 'Eurovision - Australia Decides' 2019 had a shot at going to Liverpool competing in San Marino's Eurovision national final.

Now we can add another Aussie name to the list with Kiana Blanckert competing in the big Swedish Eurovision national final Melodifestivalen.

Kiana competed in last weekends Melodifestivalen Heat 4, along with Eurovision 2012 winner Loreen, with her bop 'Where Did You Go'. It was Kiana's debut in the contest where she turned 16-years-old on the day she competed.

Her energetic performance with powerful vocals got the young star a spot in the semi-final where she will now be fighting for a spot in the Final of Melodifestivalen 2023.

The young singer and dancer was born in Perth, Australia where her mother was raised. Her family then relocated to Sweden when Kiana was just two-years-old.

In an interview with Aussievision Kiana revealed that her grandfather and auntie have travelled from Australia to Sweden to watch Kiana compete at Melodifestivalen. Kiana's mother has made sure that her family keep their close ties between Sweden and Australia.

Check out our interview with Kiana where we talk about her Melodifestivalen entry, her love for theatre, how she prefers to eat Vegemite, her best Aussie accent and more!

You can watch Kiana perform in the semi-final of Melodifestivalen where she will be closing the show with her song 'Where Did You Go' on Sunday March 5 at 6:00am AEDT (Saturday March 4 at 8:00pm CET in Europe) on the SVT site here.
