Australia: Teaser of Eurovision 2024 entry to be released on March 4

SBS Australia has announced that a surprise teaser of Australia's 2024 Eurovision entry will be released on their social media platforms on Monday March 4.

In a media release the broadcaster also asks the question "Do our 2023 Australian representatives Voyager have the inside scoop?" The release goes onto say "[Voyager are] ready to see who will represent [Australia]." This indicates the band will play some part in the teaser that indicates their successor.

Today on the SBS Eurovision Facebook page and other SBS social media platforms a video was also released featuring Danny from Voyager getting a call from presumably SBS about Australia's Eurovision representative. He declares "that's a good choice" before ringing his other bandmates to tell them the news. Interestingly Danny wears a big gold necklace with the words "Zhivago" in the video. Could this be a hint about who will represent Australia at Eurovision 2024?

Voyager, a Perth synth-metal band, finished a respectable ninth in the grand final of Eurovision in Liverpool last year. They also won the second semi-final of the competition.

Officially Australia's 2024 Eurovision entry will be released on Wednesday March 6. Speculation remains over who Voyager's successor will be, with former Eurovision entrant Dami Im ruled out.
