'Australia Decides' star Charley releases new single 'Dirty Dancing' in collaboration with Cody Jon
'Australia Decides' 2022 entrant Charley has released a new indie pop single 'Dirty Dancing' in collaboration with singer songwriter Cody Jon!
The track was co-written by Cody (Cody Ettinghausen) and Charley (Claire Howell) and produced by Oscar Sharah.
Jointly promoting the release on their social media accounts, the pair said:
"We wrote this song together a year ago and it's been a favourite ever since...YEAH we are HAPPY IT'S finally coming out. I think you will like it a lot."
Back in February Charley competed at 'Eurovision - Australia Decides' on the Gold Coast with 'I Suck At Being Lonely', finishing in fourth place. You can read more about her here.
Just after 'Australia Decides' Charley did her first headline show in Sydney and also performed on the Canberra leg of the Torch Fest musical festival. She has recently returned from a songwriting trip to Nashville, Los Angeles and Stockholm.
Sydneysider, Cody Jon, 19, describes himself as a bedroom pop artist and has been releasing music since 2019 with five singles to date. His March release 'Becky's Plan' received glowing reviews on Triple J Unearthed where his music is described as electronic/indie/pop.
Growing up around his parents dance and karate studio, Cody did his first headline show in Sydney in April and supported Sydney pop duo Cat & Calmell on their national tour in May.
Perhaps we might see him at 'Australia Decides' one day?! Let's hope so!
