American Song Contest 2022 gets an Australian air date

The inaugural American Song Contest by the NBC gets an Australian airdate!

It is set to be screened on SBS VICELAND from next week.

The competition officially wrapped up this week with a winner crowned!

Based on the Eurovision Song Contest, the American Song Contest has seen 56 artists from 50 states and 6 territories battle it out over the past eight weeks in an effort to be crowned America's Best Original Song.

The American Song Contest is hosted by Snoop Dogg and Kelly Clarkson.

It will begin in Australia on Tuesday May 17 on midday with the first two episodes airing as a double feature.

If you can't wait until then, well then you are in luck, all the episodes will be available for streaming on SBS On Demand from Sunday.

There has been no word yet as to whether the contest will return in 2023 although Martin Österdahl, Executive Supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest, announced in late April that Eurovision Canada would join the Eurovision family next year.
