AleXa is the inaugural winner of the American Song Contest! 'Wonderland' was crowned Best Original Song at the conclusion of tonight's Grand Final held at Universal Studios in Los Angeles.

With a total of 710 points, AleXA finished fifth with the juries receiving 60 points. But she stormed home in the televote receiving the highest score of 654 points. Second place went to Colorado's Riker Lynch on 503 points and in third was Kentucky's Jordan Smith on 407 points.

Born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma to a South Korean mother and Russian-American father, the 25-year-old moved to South Korea at age 21 and has developed a successful K-Pop career, releasing nine singles and two EP's.

One of the co-writers of 'Wonderland' is none other than Cazzi Opeia (Moa Carlebecker) who finished ninth at Sweden's Melodifestivalen earlier this year.

The final results were presented in Eurovision style. America's states and territories had been divided in to ten regions with a spokesperson from each region announcing that region's jury points. The televote results were then announced beginning with the country that scored the lowest with the juries.

Based on the Eurovision Song Contest, the American Song Contest has seen 56 artists from 50 states and 6 territories battle it out over the past eight weeks in an effort to be crowned America's Best Original Song. There has been no word yet as to whether the contest will return in 2023 although Martin Österdahl, Executive Supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest, announced in late April that Eurovision Canada would join the Eurovision family next year.
