Jessica Mauboy releases 'We Got Love' - Australia's Eurovision entry

Jessica Mauboy officially released her song We Got Love' today, which will represent Australia at Eurovision in May.

The song release came a number of days after the track was leaked online appearing on fan sites and social accounts around the world.

It also concludes a week long social media and advertising campaign that saw #WeGotLove plastered over billboards in Sydney as well as social accounts of Jessica and former contestants Dami Im and Isaiah Firebrace.

The reaction from fans have been largely positive with many seeing the potential for a great live performance of an up beat song with a positive message and one that builds to a strong crescendo.

We polled fans both here and overseas who had heard the track on how they thought it would do. From the almost 100 votes 60% thought it would make the Top 10 at Eurovision with half of those thinking a top 5 placing was on the cards. Only 8% thought it wouldn't make the final. We've also put together a flavour of what fans are saying on our international fan reaction article.

And the bookies agree. They currently have Australia in 4th position in international betting and 3rd here on Australian markets.

Jessica has previously performed at Eurovision in 2014. She was a non-competing interval act singing 'Sea of Flags, and showcased Australia off to the Eurovision world.

It must have worked as we were invited to compete the following year with Guy Sebastian finishing 5th with 'Tonight Again', then Dami Im's gallant 2nd place in 2016 and Isaiah Firebrace rounding out a hat trick of top 10 placings with 9th position.

Eurovision will take place in Lisbon this year with Australia first competing in semi final 2 on Thursday 10 May (Friday 11 May Australian time). If Jessica qualifies for the final she will perform on Saturday 12 May (Sunday 13 May in Australia).
