Social media really does play a crucial role in the Eurovision build-up these days. More and more fans are seeking ways to connect with their favourite artists on a deeper level beyond the song itself.
Instagram helps create a direct link between artists and fans throughout the season, and has the benefit of also giving performers a platform to promote their music to a global audience and grow their fanbase wider than the contest.
In 2026 it’s not just about the result on the night. Instagram follower numbers provide an interesting snapshot that show which acts arrive with an established audience, and which ones are gaining momentum as we edge closer to Vienna.
Earlier this year, we looked at which artists had the most Instagram followers. Now we’ve compared those figures to where they stand today to see who has gained the most followers to date.
So which acts from Eurovision 2026 saw the biggest growth on Instagram?

Followers: 1.8M followers
It’s no surprise the German superstar is still topping the follower count on Instagram from the 2026 class of Eurovision artists. Whilst Sarah’s follower count has likely increased in line with other artists, given she's already got 1.8M followers any new ones haven’t even created a distinguishable uplift in her numbers.
With a career spanning the past 15 years and having released over 30 singles in that time, it’s clear that Sarah is bringing the largest following to the Eurovision stage.
