Vladana to represent Montenegro at Eurovision 2022

Montenegro today announced that Vladana would represent the nation at Eurovision in Turin this year.

Vladana has had a long career in Montenegro, first appearing on television in the nation back in 2003.

The 35-year-old artist has also attempted to go to Eurovision before, entering the national selection show Montevizija in 2005 and 2006 when the nation was a part of Serbia and Montenegro.

In a video of the announcement Vladana revealed her cryptic message and motivation behind the song.

'I know that life is in both black and white keys, and everyday is a brand new song – that’s why it’s interesting. We only realise what it means to fight for a life when it begins to hurt, and when the cure is the only mission. This is my song, my cure for Europe, and for the world.'

Vladana has a degree of journalism from Montenegro’s State Faculty of Political Science and launched her own online fashion magazine.

This is the first time Montenegro will compete at Eurovision since 2019, after they took a two-year break from the contest.

Her song will be released at a later date.

You can get a taste of Vladana's previous music below from her album Sinner City which is available on Spotify and Apple Music.
