With the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 now a distant memory, it's almost time for the second semi to kick off in Basel, Switzerland.

After all the action from Wednesday morning's semi-final, the second semi-final - which features Australia's very own Milkshake Man, Go-Jo, is taking place on Thursday 15 May at 21:00 CET (being Friday 16 May at 5:00am AEST in Australia).

Along with seeing who will snap up the coveted final 10 spots for Saturday's Grand Final, a bunch of talented Eurovision alumni are set to also entertain us as the interval acts, with the theme of the night being "Eurovision fans" - a big party for anyone who's ever enjoyed the Eurovision Song Contest. Yes people - that means YOU!

Interval Acts

The cancellation of the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest still looms large in fans' memories, with a number of beloved songs never reaching the lights of the Eurovision stage due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2025, local broadcaster SRG and SSR are seeking to (partly) rectify this. The four 2020 songs that are performed are Gjon's Tears (Switzerland) Répondez‐moi, The Roop (Lithuania) On Fire, Efendi (Azerbaijan) Cleopatra and Destiny (Malta) All of My Love.

We then get to meet some super fans, two from Malta, one from Turkey and our very own Australian super-fan, Beto! They chat about their love for the Contest and we will get to see each fan's journey to Basel. You can see the article we wrote about Beto and his love for all things Eurovision here.

Closing Act

The closing act is a performance by host Sandra Studer, who sings Italy's 1990 winning Eurovision song by Toto Cutugno - Insieme: 1992.
