OGAE Australia's series of 2025 Eurovision Song Contest Preview Parties continued at St Kilda's Harvey's Sports Bar & Grill in Melbourne last night.
Moldova's Sunstroke Project (Eurovision 2010 & 2017) performed a set featuring their Eurovision hits Hey Mamma (3rd place - 2017) and Run Away (22nd place - 2010) as well as Yummy Mommy, their 2022 entry which finished runner-up in the Moldovan National Final.
Fans were also treated to a medley of hits including Boney M.'s Daddy Cool and Rasputin, Ace of Base's All That She Wants, Baha Men's Who Let the Dogs Out and Eurythmics' Sweet Dreams.
And in another bonus for those lucky enough to be in attendance, the group gave the very first live performance of new single We on the rise released on 26 March.
Saxophonist Sergey Stepanov made special mention of how thankful the group was to have received 12 points for Hey Mamma from the Australian televote in 2017. At the end of the show, Sergey and fellow band member Sergei Yalovitsky made a video featuring the audience for their social media channels before making time to take photos and meet and greet guests.
While Australia's 2025 Eurovision entrant Go-Jo was only able to attend the first two parties in Brisbane and Sydney, that didn't stop the crowd having a great night watching all 37 songs taking part in this year's contest on the big screen.
Attendees could also vote in the OGAE Australia 2025 Song Poll, with member's votes contributing to OGAE Australia's overall vote in the 2025 OGAE poll. Apart from Australia, most popular with the crowd appeared to be Malta, Sweden and Finland so expect them to poll highly when Australia's votes are announced in the next couple of weeks!
The final party in the series takes place in Perth tonight. Details -
