Romania has kept us on our toes with a unique national selection this year. In December Romanian broadcaster TVR announced the 45 songs and artists in the running for Selecția Națională 2022. This morning Semi Final 2 aired - hosted by Anca Mazilu and Bogdan Stănescu with Ilinca hosting segments from the green room.
Between February 5-10th the 45 songs were whittled down to just 20 with juries selecting 15 songs and online public vote choosing the final 5 for Semi Final 1. E-an-na with 'Malere' proving very popular with the online fandom receiving 10,124 votes, three times more than next best Dora Gaitanovici with 'Ana'.
Exclusively the jury panel selected just 10 songs to qualify for the Grand Final on March 5.

In a big upset this morning local favourites E-an-na and international favourite Aris have missed out on the Grand Final.
Grand Final:
On March 5, 2022 we will find out the winner of Selecția Națională and who will represent Romania at Eurovision. The results will be a combination of both jury and televote.
