The last semi-final for Norway's national final, Melodi Grand Prix (MGP), will take place this Saturday (Sunday morning Australian time), with four acts competing for one of the last two places in the grand final.
Norway's state broadcaster, NRK, has released the list of artists and titles behind the songs competing in this weekend's final heat, and the songs have also been released on Spotify. Check them out below:
Ane.Fin - 'Walking in My Sleep'
(Music and lyrics: Ane Caroline Finstad (Ane.Fin), Niklas Rosström, Espen Andreas Fjeld, Kim Rune Hagen and Vebjørn Jernberg)
Ane.Fin makes her MGP debut with 'Walking In My Sleep' in 2021, having previously competed at MGP's junior equivalent in 2006. Passionate about mental health, 29-year-old Ane.Fin has been a singer-songwriter since childhood, and had a hit in 2020 with 'Hurts'.
TuVeia - 'Bli med meg på gar’n'
(Music and lyrics: Kristian Galaaen Bredalslien, Roar Galaaen Bredalslien, Bendik Johnsen, Torgeir Ryssevik, Carl-Henrik Wahl, Jonas Holteberg Jensen, Sindre Timberlid Jenssen and Sarah A. V. Johnston)
Three-piece rap group TuVeia make their MGP debut with 'Bli med meg på gar'n', which translates to "join me at the farm". Founded in 2013 in the town of Dalsbygda, the trio aims to represent the farmers of rural Norway.
IMERIKA - 'I Can't Escape'
(Music and lyrics: Erika Dahlen (IMERIKA), Bjørn Olav Edvardsen, Morten Franck and Ben Adams)
Real name Erika Dahlen, singer-songwriter IMERIKA debuts with 'I Can't Escape'. Dahlen also co-wrote finalist Kaja Rode's song 'Feel Again'. The 24-year-old originally studied music at Liverpool's Paul McCartney School.
RIVER - 'Coming Home'
(Music and lyrics: Thomas Heiland, Lennart Karlsen, Magnus Claussen, Simen Meland Handeland og Tommy La Vardi)
Pop-country duo RIVER debut with 'Coming Home'. The pair, father and son-in-law duo Thomas and Lennart, have both maintained a healthy presence in Norwegian music over the years, with Thomas even having worked with Eurovision legend Jahn Teigen.
